Part of the Maltese archipelago, Gozo is the second-largest of the seven-island chain and basks in the Mediterranean off the coast of Sicily. More rural than its sister island, Malta, Gozo has a population of 31,000. Home to some of the oldest religious structures in the world, the fascinating Ggantija temples, the island offers dramatic orange-red sands and perfect snorkeling waters at striking Ramla Bay. Rickety buses ply Gozo's roads, making getting about the island an exciting component of your trip.

We enjoyed walking from Mgarr harbour along the cliff top walk to Hindoq with spectacular views out over Comino and Malta beyond. Hondoq itself is a lovely small bay with a restaurant which gets busy in the summer season but is very quiet at the time of year we were most recently there (January)

Positioned on a cliff top, away from the pressures of modern life. Ta'Cenc is the perfect retreat for those who want to get away and relax, walk and explore this little island of Gozo.

Beautiful small bay with plenty of restaurants and cafes. You can also have a swim too. The caves are awesome with some stunning views especially at sunset.

For everyone this is a must visit special place. It is quite a walk, especially in scuba gear; well worth it just take care. The diving is spectacular and there is a surreal feeling on the way back as you surface for your safety stop as you see snorkelers and swimmers venturing 5m down; it feels like Atlantis must have felt
