This former coconut and mango plantation is now the best beach in Ixtapa.
An absolutely beautiful, clean, coco sand beach, excellent for long walks in the morning or early evening, some good waves, super warm water temperature in November, baby turtles were hatching, and mama turtles were laying eggs at night while we were there early November.

Located six miles from Ixtapa, this is touted as the best swimming area in the region featuring snorkeling, sailing and windsurfing.
Apart from the north end of the beach Playa Quita is reserved for Club Med guests. Acess to the public end is by way of wheelchair friendly paths and ramps. There is a small bar with some food options. It's a great place to sit, have abeer and relax.

Since its development in 1970, this island has become a man-made paradise and wildlife reserve.
We booked this thru Sunwing Vacations on our first all inclusive vacation in Mexico. We had s great day we were picked up by our tour guide at our hotel Holiday Inn Resort. It was approximately 15 minute drive to where we were dropped off with our tour guide to the water taxi to Ixtapa Island. It was a 5 minute walk to the area for snorkeling. Our package included transportation from and to our Resort water Taxi to and from Ixtapa island our snorkeling gear 1hr guided tour around the reef. We were able to snorkel on our own as well. It was moderate activity. Lunch and a beverage water beer or soda was included in our package price. It was a great day friendly tour guide snd snorkel guide. The food at Lili's restaurant was amazing. We were sble to see so many types of fish feeding on the coral reef. The tour was 5hrs in total. Picked up at 9:30am and dropped off by 4pm. We were on Ixtapa island fm 10am-3pm. It was good value.

A peaceful, popular beach.
Barra Vieja beach is south of the airport. About 40 min. from the main avenue in Acapulco along the beach (Costera). Warm water. Nice sand. Worth a visit.

With almost two miles of sand, this beach is ideal for long walks, jogging or soaking up rays.
like vast, it stretches for miles and miles and can you say uncrowded, oh my goodness, not a soul in sight and even if there were, there's more than enough room for all so picturesque, the sparkly ocean at its side, with mountains and hills its backdrop remarkably unspoilt in its pristine coastal location its golden fine sands make it perfect for walking and running (just don't cross it in the afternoon!) with great caution advised - the crashing waves at its shoreline demand respect make it spectacular and magnificent all the same the perfect place to lose yourself and just breathe grateful to experience such wondrous beauty!!

This beach is an excellent spot to view various birds and wildlife.
We stayed at the villas playa blanca on the beach. Beautiful beach running for miles great for walking but the surf is very rough not good for swimming but we had a lovely infinity pool overlooking the beach. Our villa was great very spacious and comfortable. Four excellent restaurants within walking distance on the beach.

Located east of the city, this fresh-water lagoon is great for viewing wildlife and engaging in water sports.
We went with Roberto Alercon. He is simply amazing. He set us up with Captain Felix. We released sea turtles then had margaritas! We then had a tour of the lagoon with Captain Felix. It is a lovely, peaceful place. There were many birds to see and the water lilies were lovely. We jumped in the water and picked a water lily bouquet! We were also given water lily necklaces to wear. Captain Felix’s assistant collected the famous mud and we were given mud facials. The mud is said to take 10-15 years off. Sadly, I cannot verify this, but it was still really fun! We then ate lunch at a lovely restaurant on the beach that had wonderful fresh seafood. It was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend this tour with Roberto Alercon!!!

These cliffs are home to the daredevil cliff divers.
The name means "the broken" since the cliffs were dynamited to quarry rock for a hotel (according to a sign at the scene). The cliff views are amazing and the cliff divers death defying. There was a carnival atmosphere each night as the locals congregated to view the divers. Every visitor to Acapulco should include this site at night.

Explore! Beautiful scenery and people. We’ve yet to have a bad meal. The sunsets are gorgeous! If you stay at the Thompson or further left you’ll see better sunsets or plan dinner early enough to watch it from many Ana omg restaurants! Beach is clean.
