Reserva Ecologica Manglares Churute

We hired a driver and a guide to visit Churute on our way from Guayaquil to Cuenca. Absolutely worth. We first took a boat ride around the mangrooves and saw plenty of beautiful birds. Unforgettable. Then we walked in the jungle, that was hot and filled with mosquitoes, but we saw monkeys and 1 humming bird.

Parque el Lago

Reviewed By ajeffsu - Puerto Rico, Caribbean

This artificial dam is a good place to spend a morning and afternoon outside of Guayaquil. You can find peace, tranquility and good landscapes. It is one of the few places in Guayaquil to take a blanket and have a picnic (you must bring insect repellent). If you want you can reach the end of the street (inside the park) and pay to be in an area where they rent boats & kayaks and there is a pool and a few grills. Very good if you are with children, because there they can use the pool and be safer. The problem with visiting the park is that there is no good transport to get there. It can be easy to get but hard to get out of there. The best is to go with your own car. There is no place to buy good food, so the best thing is to picnic and bring your own water. Parque Lago is located one hour from Guayaquil, on the road that goes to the beach, it is very easy to reach, just after the toll you will see it on the right.
