We have been coming to this area for 20 years. We like the off-season with your people and the weather is still very nice. The beach is the best in the world. We like to bike and there is a great bike path and a great bike shop with great service. Good for walking as well

Grayton Beach State Park

Reviewed By mellyons01 - Hornbeck, United States

We turned down into the state park while out exploring one day. The first pleasant surprise was that the entre fee had been covered and entry was free. There are beautiful camping areas and public beach access. The high dunes are just beautiful!!! We followed a nature trail into what looked like it would be a small thicket and it turned out to be a beautiful small scrub tree forest, just lovely!!!!! Grayton Beach State Park was a wonderful little detour while we were on 30A visiting.

Seaside Beach

Reviewed By PFreddieT - Billericay, United Kingdom

The weather was fine and warm for early March but the wind was on shore so no swimming along the beautiful beach. Sadly we chose the first day of school spring break and the place was very busy around the beach area. However if you walk away from the beach, inland, the houses are older and have character.

Camp Helen State Park

Reviewed By 992mcm - Dayton, United States

Hard to call it a hidden gem when it's the top ranked attraction in the area, but we almost skipped it -- assuming there are plenty of other places for hikes/walks. Glad we didn't! Nearer the beach, you're exploring dunes -- toward the lake, you've got paved/wooden paths that make the walk more accessible -- with a loop on the north side of 98 and great views of the lake. Kudos to the team who manages the upkeep.

Point Washington State Forest

Reviewed By themuddyriver

Great hiking in the Eastern Lake trail loop. Beautiful and serene. Bring water - the trail is long.it is flat and easy with only one area we had to detour around due to standing water after heavy rains. The topography here is beautiful with old pines, dense scrub, a sandy floor and lots of pine needles to cushion a seasoned hikers’ knees and ankles. You can mountain bike too. Some roads throughout rather bumpy. Enjoy the ride!
