Adventure Park

Great place for kids to play. Giant play area, a walking trail and a large field. Plenty of space to park. This is on a church property, keep that in mind during any potential services.

Mount Holly Marsh Preserve

Reviewed By whalepilot - New Orleans, United States

Great place for a walk/hike. Today, I hiked nearly all the paths in the Preserve (6.7 mi) except for the lamberton trail. There are many options for determining you hike length since the trails intersect each other. The blue & green were soggy in spots but manageable. Green needs some maintenance near the south end of the trail due to fallen trees. The other trails were old abandoned roads making walking relatively easy. However, the yellow trail was an aerobic workout! It climbed to the top of the ridge--nearly 1000' from the parking lot. The lower elevation grounds were primarily evergreens with the higher being young hardwoods. This preserve area was probably heavily timbered in the past for lumber and fuel for the nearby iron furnace. Download a map and determine your route--the blazes are easy to follow.

Kings Gap Environmental Education and Training Center

Loved doing the orienteering courses and just spending time in the natural beauty that is this space. A lot of winding and turning to get to the ed center in the middle, but totally worth the drive! Cute little garden, a mansion and water tower (though the mansion was closed when we went).

Beautiful scenery. There are several trails to choose from. A very nicely maintained beach area attached to a pond. Great for a day trip.

Children's Lake

Reviewed By Going2Travel2 - New Cumberland, United States

A great place to take your children or grandchildren for a hike around the lake or to trout fish during trout season. They enjoyed the day and caught their limit of trout for an evening meal. OR, on a sunny day, take a book and just sit by the lake. Love it.
