On a rainy day we walked up to the falls. It was a nice hike and the veil covered the rocks. Not many people.

Terrain: This hike is perfect for someone looking to get a decent workout outdoors with some picturesque views. There are dips and waves, but the majority of the hike is a pretty steady incline. The terrain is quite smooth (not many rocks or exposed roots). The trail is also mostly shaded, so I wouldn't bother bringing sunglasses. Time: If you are moving slow and steady with several short breaks, you can do the ascent in approximately 2 hours. If you move steadily at a quick pace (not running), you can reach the top in 90 minutes. I did see many people running up and down the trail, I am not sure how long it takes them though. The view from the top quite beautiful and overlooks cultus lake, the Vedder river, and Chilliwack. You can see mountains, farmland, and the developed areas of Chilliwack. My wife and I try to do this hike once a week, usually on a Saturday or Sunday morning, and its the perfect way to start the day!

One of the nice things about the Bridal Veil Falls Waterfall is that it's a very short walk from the Parking Lot, ideal for families with young children or even for seniors who can still take a hike with a moderate incline. When we arrived in November, the gates to the park were closed but you can easily park outside the gate and walk to the falls from there (bear left at the fork in the road as you walk up). For Ontario-types, we were amazed by the size of the trees, and the rich mosses (and even ferns!) growing on (and in!) the trees. The falls themselves? The pictures say it all: spectacular.

A 300 acre nature reserve with level walking trails, bird viewing blinds, observation tower and interpretive centre (free) . Known for a large nesting colony of Great Blue Herons which nest from March through July. Great bird and wildlife watching. Check website for free community programs and special events. Trail open dawn to dusk. Rotary Interpretive Centre is open 10 am to 4 pm.

A great place to walk along the world famous Vedder River. It’s a well maintained trail than has ample parking and portable WC’s along the way. There’s always something different to see, whether it’s fishermen catching salmon and Steelhead or the Bald Eagles doing the same.
