Top 10 Nature & Parks in Charleston, South Carolina (SC)

June 12, 2021 Janean Rudisill

Historic Charleston is bursting with Southern charm and hospitality. The city feels a bit like it’s suspended in time, thanks to its antebellum architecture and surrounding plantation landscapes. Take in incredible views of the Battery and the French Quarter as you stroll the Waterfront Park, then become inspired by the cultivated beauty of the gardens at Middleton Place. At night, try a ghost tour for an introduction to the spooky side of the city.

Philip Simmons Museum Home and Workshop

We are preserving the legacy of the master blacksmith, who lived in this house from 1960 to 2008. His home is now a museum house with an operating workshop that was given to him by his mentor (an ex-slave).

Northbridge Park

Reviewed By EvanGuthrie - Charleston, United States

Northbridge Park in West Ashley is a cool park that has great views of the river and is a good place to stop and catch some fresh air and a nice breeze on a warm day. I enjoy stopping here when I have some time on a busy day and it is very relaxing and calming to be that close to the water. This park is well maintained and offers plenty of places to walk. I really like the pier that you are able to walk out on and be out on the water. This park offers a unique view of the Charleston area and I have had a great experience every time that I have visited here.
