Bolton (/ˈbɒltən/ ( listen) or locally [ˈbɜʏtn̩]) is a town in Greater Manchester in North West England. A former mill town, Bolton has been a production centre for textiles since Flemish weavers settled in the area in the 14th century, introducing a wool and cotton-weaving tradition. The urbanisation and development of the town largely coincided with the introduction of textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution. Bolton was a 19th-century boomtown, and at its zenith in 1929 its 216 cotton mills and 26 bleaching and dyeing works made it one of the largest and most productive centres of cotton spinning in the world. The British cotton industry declined sharply after the First World War, and by the 1980s cotton manufacture had virtually ceased in Bolton.

You really cannot beat this place loads of space and lots of different ways to get to it. A walkers dream and great for dog walkers as well , if you can stop them chaseing the ducks and other birds. There is a cafe here but from reviews its best left alone. Take a loaf and feed the local ducks there are hundreds. Really great for free you can even visit the grounds of local turton tower for free as well (no parking charge as well) a real treat for dogs

A level 20 minute walking path round a wild bird water sanctuary. A bit muddy and bitterly cold in winter and can get overgrown in summer, it gives give delightful views over open water. Expect a lot of wet dogs off the lead. No facilities other than car parking and the odd bench, but the Hope and Anchor pub at the bottom end provides a warm welcome.

We are lucky in bolton to have such a wonderful array of parks where some towns have none. Moss bank park is one of the best in Bolton and probably further afield. It has a rose garden, a rock garden, a bowling green, a children's play area and acres of green space with lovely trees. It's great just to walk around. Go on try it, you will deninitely enjoy. It's much better if the sun is out and the temperature is soaring but aren't most places. I think there is an atmosphere here when it's quiet or if it's heaving with people. I know because I've been on all occasions. I went as a child and I still go now with my grandchildren. It still has the same magic.

Great park with a lot of life and character. Riverside walk through trees and along the banking. We say dogs having a great time. Two even went into the river and straight out again. Glad I wasn't the owner as the the dogs jumped up at him then shook the water off. The playground looks really good. Is it modern? Seems pretty new.
