Arte da Terra is an artistic ceramic gallery and workshop. Located in the village of Paradela do Rio, Arte da Terra is a place of creation, workshops and exhibitions. Here, you can meet the work of Maria Carvalho, José Teixeira and Carolina Carvalho. There are three exhibition rooms that host temporary and permanent ceramic collections. The open schedule isn't fixed, and for that reason we recommend you to call or text / email to confirm is there's someone to receive you. It is with great pleasure that we invite you to meet this place. See you soon! Maria and Carolina

This modern museum built behind a preserved façade has well displayed, interesting artefacts depicting the bread and wine making that this village is famous for. Our guide was excellent and interspersed her explanations with stories about the history of the village and her own life here. There are also interactive displays that children as well as adults will enjoy. Trying to identify different smells in wine was particularly challenging but fun. We also watched a video made by local children encouraging people to visit. They obviously enjoyed making it and we enjoyed watching it. We ended with a spectacular view over the valley from the balcony.

Tresminas has one of the biggest and well preserved ancient gold mines of Iberian Peninsula; from this place, Romans took 20tons of pure gold during 250 years of mining activity. Nowadays, you can visit the mining spaces, including the subterranean ones, with guide, and observe how natural elements occupied, during seventeen centuries, this ancient gold mine.

Great place to go and find out something about the region and the wine. The entrance fee is 6€ per person and at the end you get a glass of wine.
