Atelier & Gallery "Marta Pejoska" is the first private art atelier with gallery for contemporary jewellery design and filigree in Ohrid and Macedonia. The preservation of the traditional filigree technique and jewellery which are part of the Macedonian Cultural Heritage is the main aspect of the Atelier. The other one is renewing and innovation in the contemporary development of the filigree jewellery. What you can see when you visit the Gallery is the traditional filigree jewellery exhibited together with the contemporary jewellery pieces which emerged from the centuries old traditional filigree design and craft.

The National Workshop for Handmade Paper is one of the seventh in the World in which the paper is made in the original Chinese way from Second Century BC. The method is unique and it revives the old tradition in Ohrid. Don't miss the unique opportunity to be presented this way of making the paper and imprint your memories from Ohrid on Gutenberg's press from XVth century.
I loved this because I've never been to a paper museum. I found the tour to be very brief, but I walked out with a perfect understanding of medieval paper making and printing processes. I liked that because there was no entry fee, I could instead spend my money buying an original handmade paper print. Because this is so quick an also free, I think it definitely warrants a stop on your Ohrid tour!

The museum is two floors and contains informative exhibits on fossils, prehistoric artifacts, reptiles, amphibians, plants, crustaceans, insects, parasites, birds, fish, etc. The placards are in Macedonian, so non-Slavic speakers can only look at and appreciate the exhibits. The tariff was 60 Den. Very inexpensive for the quality of the museum.
