The Casa de la Zacatecana (Zacatecan's Home) Museum features a collection of decorative art from Mexico, Europe and the East, as well as sculptures and paintings dating back to the Seventeenth to Twentieth Centuries. The museum is named after the central character of a series of events that gave rise to a famous legend from the city of Zacatecas, in the northern Mexico. The old mansion where the museum is housed dates back to the Eighteenth Century, and is a traditional high-class home of the New Spain society. It consists of eleven halls, and a brief introductory video. A visit to this museum will provide a glance at the day-to-day life of yesteryear that took place un this mansion.

Located in a beautiful XVII century house restored to be a museum which shows a magnificent wood carving replica of the "Calendario Azteca" or "Piedra del Sol", original paintings created between 1930 to late 60´s to become calendar images, and an astonishing collection of old advertising calendars from 1884 to our days. Enjoy the beatiful gardens and relax with the best cup of coffee in town.
Super fun calendar and history tour of a 'picturesque Mexican culture' through the history of calendar'. The building itself is incredible!

To start with, the building that houses the MACQ is itself an architectural piece to admire, despite the arrangements, it retains that air of bygone days, both historic and full of memories. The museum is small and becomes very crowded, its two floors contain collections of national and local artists and some national and international itinerant exhibitions. The place is a must if you visit downtown Queretaro, you can easily walk around it in 90 minutes and it's a nice experience, don't forget to take some pictures in the floating house in the main patio.
