The PRECINEMA Museum - Minici Zotti Collection, also known as the Museum of the Magic Lantern, opened its doors in 1998. The PRECINEMA Museum holds a number of records, being not merely the only one of its kind in Italy expressly dedicated to Precinema history, but alsoreceiving a “Declaration of Local Interest” from the Veneto Region. The Museum displays exhibits including optical views, the “new world”, and a varied collection of optical instruments which, during the 19th century, but particularly during Victorian times, borewitness to the path that led to the birth of theCINEMA in 1895. Alongside simple toys, like thethaumatrope or the anamorphose we find morecomplex instruments including the phenakistoscope, praxinoscope and zoetrope, optical toys that createdthe illusion of movement.
Worth making an effort to see this small museum which offers insights into an overlooked part of popular entertainment history. The rooms include some exquisite examples and working machines.

The city walls of Cittadella are a rare example of medieval means of defense with a still practicable, perfectly preserved parapet walk. As a matter of fact it is one of the most beautiful means of defense in Europe. The recent restoration and safeguarding of the ancient Parapet Walk allows visitors to admire the town from favoured viewpoints.
I had seen medieval castles before this one but this was definitely my best experience. Walking the walls of the castle gives you a unique perspective on medieval life. The views of the town within the castle as well as outside the walls is truly spectacular, especially with the mountains in the background. Expect the walk to take about an hour and a half. Cittadella is an excellent day trip for anyone interested in a real functioning medieval town.
