Poltava Regional Museum

It's fascinating both as a museum and purely astonishing piece of architecture. The facade is mesmerizing. And the exhibit inside will give you a comprehensive set of information on Poltava's history with lots of curious artefacts. If I'd have to select only one museum in Poltava to visit, it would be this one.

Long-Range Strategic Aviation Museum

Remarkable selection of aircraft, mostly strategic bombers, but also some fighter-bombers. You can also go into the cockpits. Highlight for its rarity is probably the Tu-160, the white swan. All for just a few euros. Not much English is spoken (one guide was fluent) but everyone was super-friendly. Every cold-war enthusiast should visit. Three hours by train from Kiev.
