Set against the misty blue backdrop of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is a gateway to 500 thousand acres of Appalachian wilderness. If hiking over 800 miles of mountain trails and camping in dense ancient forests isn't your thing, head over to Dollywood for a different sort of fun. Founded by country queen, Dolly Parton, Dollywood combines rollercoasters, waterslides, and live bluegrass and gospel concerts, with a down home country fair.

Very nice pottery place with a nice assortment of items. I purchased two of the soup bowls with handles. Can’t wait to have a bowl of chili in them!

Everyone knows the name Titanic! Everyone knows Titanic struck and iceberg! And everyone knows Titanic was lost! She sat at the bottom of the ocean for 75 years before they found her in 1985. A second expedition to the wreck site went out in 1986 and that expedition was co-led by the owner of this museum. The artifacts you see throughout the ship are REAL and valued at over $4 million dollars. You'll be able to touch a growing iceberg, experience the 28 degree water, try and steer the ship and pay tribute to the 2,208 passengers and crew that were on the Titanic. You will enter as a guest and leave as a Titanic Passenger!
This was probably our families favorite attraction in Pigeon Forge. The history packed into this museum is incredible. Each visitor is given a boarding pass of one the original passengers aboard the doomed Titanic ship. The tour is mainly audio with some surprise character educators and many interactive displays and actual artifacts saved from the ship and it’s passengers. Really sombering but educational and Very interesting. Highly recommend a visit!

The SGMA was established to preserve the Southern Gospel history behind the music we love. We have obtained artifacts and historical items from some of the most prominent people in the Southern Gospel music industry, and we are honored to display those for our visitors. You can be a part of the SGMA by joining today and helping us to preserve this cherished history for future generations.
On numerous occasions we have been in the park without making the time to tour the Museum. On this trip we found ourselves at the door and entered to find a remarkable amount of information displayed in grand fashion with little space left bare front to back. The music and artists with their lives presented as they were took us back to our childhood and beyond evoking fond memories of simpler times spent with our families and friends singing the music in church or listening to radio programs that elevated our love of both.

Thomas Kinkade's Pigeon Forge Gallery is the Smoky Mountains' premier spot for art collectors near Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Our gallery staff is incredibly learned and experienced about Thomas Kinkade paintings, as well as works of art from many other popular artists such as Zac Kinkade and Robert Girrard.
We love Thomas Kinkade and enjoyed seeing a lot of his works under one roof. If you love works of art, you will enjoy this place.

Alcatraz East is a crime museum featuring an in depth look at American Crime History which includes artifacts from Alcatraz, but this is not a Museum dedicated solely to Alcatraz.Explore American History from a different perspective. Five unique galleries burrow deep into the studies of criminal intent, criminal profiles, the penal system, victims, crime prevention, forensic science, law enforcement and the Judiciary Branch of government. The museum is 25,000 square feet spread over 2 floors and includes over 100 interactives.
My wife, teenage daughter and I really enjoyed this museum. I echo other reviews in saying be sure to give yourself enough time. We spent over 3 hours and didn’t see everything. We got lucky and got a great deal on tickets on Groupon for the VIP admission (admission, audio tour, Top Detective Challenge (scavenger hunt), and the Heist (laser room). We didn’t really use the audio tour so I wouldn’t recommend buying it separately, but the Groupon made the VIP package cheaper than general admission. The museum does a really nice job with written information about each subject, which makes it interesting and easy to find the answers to the scavenger hunt (which results in getting a sticker at the end). I really enjoyed doing the laser room with my daughter, and I think she got a kick out of watching her dad crawling around trying to avoid all the lasers. The absolute only negative was there weren’t enough benches to sit on while a family member took a little longer in a room. Don’t miss this very interesting and fun museum if you are in the area.

We went in expecting a replica of the Shroud of Turin. Wow, just a small part. They have an extensive history of the shroud from the time of Christ through many locations to when it ended up in Turin. There is an extensive section of the detailed analysis of the cloth, including one report of how it was not from the proper time, and how it was proved to be actual. Another section on the history and methods of crucifixions. The replica of the shroud is at eye level with notes attesting to the marks and imprints. This can be a 20 minute walk through on quick glances, or like us, a three hour afternoon reading and learning much more than we expected.
