Nidart is part gallery and part shop. Usually an artist is creating pieces during the open hours. The Mexican pottery and other ceramic pieces are lovely. We spent perhaps 45 minutes there and purchased several pieces which were wrapped for travel home (we didn't ask for this service; it was appreciated, however). The gallery is just around the corner from Plazuela Machado, and one can browse at leisure.

Small museum in Olas Altas featuring exhibits of Sinaloan history and culture as well as several pottery displays.
In this small archeological museum you'll find some stunning treasures that illustrate early life in Baja. As the labels are in English and Spanish, you can easily do a self-styled tour as we have done twice. There is a small entry fee, but no gift shop.

This little gem is easy to miss even with directions..I had to ask where it was a couple of times!..I walked here and the typical tourist may feel nervous cuz everyone speaks Spanish,,there is hardly anyone on the streets, & it is off the beaten path..but I am not the typical tourist..as I read, write, & speak Spanish,,raised in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico!..anyway..there is only a small sign to indicate that it is even a museum..I had to ask a grandmother on the street if I had missed it!..WHen I went, I was glad I had arrived at that time, because I just missed a big tour group!..THe owner welcomed me and charged me 30 pesos. I asked why there was not a bigger sign to indicate this little museum is here..He replied that there is some law prohibiting any kind of intrusive sign in the historical area of Mazatlan! sure enough..he told me that when his family purchased the house,,they had no idea it was historical..He also tells me that his Pedro Infante's daughters really support this little museum..and have donated alot of his possessions, like his clothes, pictures, and so on..I vaguely remember him but my Mexican grandma & Mom loved him!..He was killed in a plane accident in 1957 at the age of 39!...I really enjoyed this tour..and the homeowner did a beautiful job of explaining the star's history and displaying his personal items!..He was one of the great stars of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema..at the time..actors really knew how to act or perform..and most movies told a story..wish I had been around then, but I missed the boat..i am a 6os baby.
