There are 2 floors full of original art by Nigel Greaves. The vibrancy of the paintings as you walk in is stunning. There are plenty of paintings in different styles and for different tastes. We received a warm welcome and particularly enjoyed the back story behind some of the paintings.

Henry Paddon Contemporary Art

Reviewed By SuzanneCruse - Hailsham, United Kingdom

We have been visiting He ray Paddon for many years and have some wonderful local art from his shop from big and small, to quirky and cute. I love Arrington and can always find something to go with a new outfit here. Henry himself is a real gentleman; he always remembers your name and you never feel pressurised to buy. If there is something you would like but it is not in the shop he contacts the artists to see if he can source it. He is a gem and so is his shop.

Excellent exhibition with large wooden structures by David Nash of great beauty and inspiration. Highly recommendable video footage of cork harvest in Spain. Very enjoyable visit to permanent exhibition of local artist Eric Ravilious. His work is so modern and timeless. After finishing the South Downs Walk his pictures were like illustrations of the views we enjoyed this autumn. Incredible! What took our breath away was a masterpiece by contemporary artist Grayson Perry.

The Story of Eastbourne

The Story of Eastbourne exhibition and heritage hub tells the story of Eastbourne through the eyes of the real people who lived it, as well as providing an information hub for heritage. The exhibition will run for two years, will test the water for a more permanent facility, with residents, visitors and school groups helping to shape what a future museum could look like. Ranging from pre-history to present day, the exhibition tells the story of Eastbourne through the eyes of past ancestors, starting with the Iron Age woman and child, discovered during excavations in Kings Drive just a couple of years ago, and the world renowned Beachy Head woman. From an ancient elephant’s tooth to a piece of real Roman floor, a vast collection of artefacts is on display, along with interactive exhibits, child-friendly activities and significant past discoveries, all of which tell the story of human settlement in the area.
