The landscape that inspired Anne of Green Gables entices legions of lovers to Canadaâs smallest province. Peaceful P.E.I. is a slow paced haven, full of distinctively Maritime delights. Red sandstone cliffs rise above gentle beaches. Lonely lighthouses dot rocky bluffs. Deserted trails beckon for romantic roaming.

While the place was clean and served it’s purpose, the pool was supposed to be open by the time we got here and jt wasn’t , and also the wifi either doesn’t work, or is too hard to get working to bother with. Called front desk for help 4 times myself and my gf said she did 2 times the night before to no avail. Would have been nice to know the wifi was out and the pool still wasn’t operational with bringing kids and their iPads here !

I was traumatized by the check in experience! My wife was sitting in the vehicle while I walked into check in. I simply asked the lady who checked me in that if there was an emergency at night, whom would we need to contact, since there wasn't a 24 hours front desk. The owner, Mr. William, was sneakily listening (that's how it came across) to the conversation during the check in process from the back office and came yelling outside at the top of lungs to the lady at the front desk " NO NO NO - he is not going to stay here. Why is he asking that there is an emergency? It is my intuition there is something shady here". I politely explained to him that it was a simple question about an emergency, such as hot water issue in the room or what if the door lock wouldn't work. We had checked in at approximately 9:45 pm, which was 15 min prior to the front desk closing down for the evening. Mr. William (the owner) continued to yell at me "No, I do not want you here. It is my intuition that something is wrong. Why would you be asking about an emergency? Please take your package an go away from here. I don't want you here. I will give you a full refund". The lady was apologetic and shocked at the same time. She explained to William that it was a simple question in their own language (it seemed to be an Asian language). She gave me the room key in my hand and William had the audacity and cheek to throw another metallic key on her head and tried to injure her because she continued to check me in. I was stranded and in the middle of nowhere and there was no other hotel around in the vicinity. Hence, we continued to check in. This was overall an extremely traumatic experience for me!

This review is disturbing but see the review below about this manager for corroboration. I booked a 1 br cottage with 2 queen beds and a pullout couch for me and my 2 buddies looking for a cheap place to stay close to town. I booked this cottage on their website, not a third party website. When I arrived the manager, who was the absolute worst customer service person I've ever experienced, told me I did not book a cottage, I booked a hotel room with 1 bed. I showed her the email confirmation which clearly showed me booking a cottage, to which she replied "well sometimes third party websites don't have our correct availability". I told her again that I didn't book through a third party, to which her answer was "what do you want me to do, make a cottage out of thin air?" She then asked when did I book my cottage, to which I replied 4 weeks prior. She laughed at me and said "this is old home week, i should have known there would be no cottages available 4 weeks prior". (I'm from 3 hours and 2 provinces away, so clearly this is an asinine thing to say). She then told me I should know websites are unreliable and should have called to confirm. I told her I didn't care that their website was unreliable to which she responded "of course you don't" then slammed the door behind the desk in my face as she stomped off to call the owner. She returned about 5 minutes later and said she spoke with the owner and they checked the activity log on my booking and no one had been logged as editing it, so I was wrong I booked a motel room not a cottage (despite the fact I continued to show her the email confirmation for my cottage). I told her I wanted to speak to the owner, she reluctantly called him and said "yah buddy wants to talk to you". I informed him first of all about the mistake with my room and secondly I told him all the things above about his managers behavior to which he had no comments or apologies. He proceeded to tell me the same story about how I was clearly wrong because no one touched my booking. I asked him what the rate was for a motel room, to which he replied $169. I asked him what the rate was for a cottage to which he replied $199. I asked them what rate was on my reservation, to which they looked and said $199. Still no apology or offer to smooth the situation over. Finally, the owner offered for me to "cancel the room for free". Can you imagine that the best offer they gave me to make up for their error and horrendous customer service was to not charge me a cancellation fee. I checked my phone and not one single hotel room was available for that night in all of Charlottetown. Same on Airbnb. It was clear that we were going to be stuck in this terrible, tiny room, and worse yet, there be no repercussions for the terrible service I had received. I told the owner that we would stay but I wanted one night free for all this inconvenience to which he replied no way, he couldn't do that. He told me I could have the room for the weekday rate of $149/night, ($20 less per night) and that after fees and tax that was about $100 cheaper (apparently their math skills are as good as their customer service skills). I had no choice but to accept this garbage offer. Later that night I got a call from a different staff member, telling me their system wasn't working properly to charge my credit card and that I needed to come right away to give them my card number (he was very anxious and aggressive about me coming as soon as possible, I'm guessing worried that i was going to take some kind of revenge for the way I was treated). They then proceeded to call twice more and come knock on the door, harassing me like i was a criminal for my credit card number. As for the room, the one double bed and pullout couch were touching each other and took up the entire room area, so instead of 2 queens in a BR and a double pullout, 3 grown men settled for a double and a pullout side by side. I absolutely despise this place and could not recommend against it enough

New owners took over this motel. I know because I have stayed here at least 5 times now with my children. I just came back this time from the worst experience ever. HEED my warning! DO NOT STAY HERE. The new owners did not maintain this building. Our room 117 had NO HOT water the entire time. We were barely able to get showers. I mean it was FREEZING. The floors were so dirty our feet turned black - we had to get slippers so our feet wouldn't be turning black. NO wifi. No supplies. We had to buy our own dish soap so we could do our dishes! We had to buy pans so we could cook. We had NO dish towels, NO dish clothes, NO oven mitts. We had to ask for all these because I did not want to pay for more supplies. We finally got it but we had already taken the pans out with our towels. The oven is propane stove and it is unhealthy because you can smell propane all through the place whenever you are cooking. The BBQ outside is disgusting and barely works. The air conditioner is so dirty we all came home sick. The cleaners would barely give us clean towels - unless we asked, and even then wouldn't arrive until 7-8pm after my children were already settled for the night. My sister was in room 9 and found RAT POOP in her utensil drawer and blood on the bed sheets!! This was the WORST stay of my life and I will never stay here again - which is a shame because we stayed here every time mainly due to the location. The new owners also upped the prices as well. So for $800 - I could have stayed in a really nice cottage a little further away - which rest assured I WILL BE after this stay! Oh... and I should note. I complained every day about the things that were happening and nothing was being done. My children had to take ONE cold shower while we were away for 5 days. They went to bed dirty and sandy because we had no hot water or clean towels. We complained during check out and they gave us a pathetic 10% off - claiming they already gave me a 10% discount at the beginning. Big deal. Cottages 10 minutes away charged WAY less and were much cleaner and less problems. NEVER STAY HERE. You will regret it. The only thing good about this place is the location. But that's not enough to convince me to return. Too bad the owners are running this place to the ground!

For more than 30 years our motel has been serving the Cavendish area. Our large property, convenient location and breath taking views have been attracting families and friends from all over the world. Please be advised that there are Pet Restrictions.
Our first time in the area and we found this gem. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff/owners. Quaint and comfortable. They gave us a great recommendation for a stop along our drive and it was beautiful. If we’re ever in the area again we will stay with them.

Convenient off the bridge and main highway, wife and I pulled in as we were too tired to go on. Room was clean and bed was rather hard. It is a convenient clean place. Nothing fancy. Ate at the coffee shop and had a good hot breakfast, price was high for the meals.
