The pictures of this place is accurate! There's no TV but with two kids 7 and 12, with their pads, wifi was more than enough. Plus, it helps wind down and helps concentrate on the wonderful atmosphere and environment. Very Zen-like, with the beach and pool just in the 'backyard' and evening/night fire pits with s'mores and complimentary water/seltzer/Nespresso coffee is just icing. During my stay the staff from the beach crew, to the pool and to the fire pit crew were just wonderfully accommodating. Special shout out to Akeem who helped me find an extension cord to help me charge my car, even though he didn't have to go out of his way. If you want ice, there's only one though, but a large thermos helped me fill what i needed and the room fridge kept drinks cool enough. As to the room, we booked a two queen bed room facing the parking lot and it was enough for a family of 4. Beds were comfortable as well as the linens and honestly, I preferred the bare stone floor more than carpets that can trap and accumulate all the sand and dirt. Air conditioning was excellent and we slept well!

Good location close to many restaurants, friendly staff. Near to most major highways. Most other motels in area offered rooms by the hour which for me is not a great selling point. Happy to recommend. Would come back.

Getting anywhere on Long Island is always a challenge and finding good value hotels is even harder. I arrived at this quiet grotto surrounded by nature at the end of a harrowing drive up from New Jersey and by the time I got up to a modern, clean, well-equipped room I didn't want to leave. I had been thinking of HI Express as a sort of budget line, but not this one though the value was good and much less than the rate currently showing on this page. It's the setting well away from the highway in a forest setting that makes it a destination hotel, though they might do more to make that nature space more practically usable. There is a large lawn area with chairs, benches, a shady gazebo, but much more space that could be used this way. Only negatives: there is only a Chili's restaurant nearby. A 10:00 drive south on 347 will take you to a bunch of good shopping center restaurants (recommend Umbertos), but that's after the usual NJ challenge of having to drive a thousand miles in one direction to get to a U turn that will allow you to go in the other direction. Also, too much ambient light in the room at night, largely caused by a telephone/clock thing that tries to emulate a lighthouse which I could not fully smother to death with one of the giant pillows, along with the lights of all the other electronics in the room and a (welcomed) bathroom nightlight that reflects against a mirror in the hall space and right back into your eyes (solved by fully closing the bathroom door). Two nights here and I was ready for the racecourse drive back to NJ and further south. Recommended.

Been staying here on and off for 20 years, hasn’t changed much and always pretty middle of the road. This visit had us smelling marijuana smoke for the first couple of hours here but seemed to fade away, do you blame hotel or rude folks? Room clean but the towels could use an upgrade. As for price and location excellent. Restaurants within walking distance. Parking a bit tight but security in parking area has been improved. City noise at a moderate level and only minutes from Belmont Park.

A unique 50 room Hotel and 85 Boat Slip Marina located in Freeport, Long Island. All Guestrooms are tastefully appointed to today's modern travelers needs providing all the basic necessities you have come to expect. The closest Hotel to Jones Beach and Theater. Margarita's Cafe is our seasonal on-site restaurant/ Bar Lounge with a 3000 square foot outdoor patio that sits alongside our 85 boat slip marina. They offer daily specials and scheduled live entertainment. Freeport lies on the South Shore of Long Island, in the southwestern part of Nassau County, within the town of Hempstead. Freeport is New York State's second-biggest village and has a station on the Long Island Rail Road. The south part of the village is penetrated by several canals that allow access to the Atlantic Ocean by means of passage through salt marshes. The oldest canal is the late 19th-century Woodcleft Canal. Freeport has extensive small-boat facilities and a resident fishing fleet, as well as charter and open water fishing boats.
This hotel is disgusting and dirty. Stayed for one night in the Marina view room. Our sheets had hair in it, probably from the last guests that stayed there. I made them come to the room and change all the bedding. The housekeeping staff left for the day and the front desk guy offered to do it. He was actually so very sweet. Bed was so uncomfortable, sunken in the middle! We kept rolling into eachother during the night. Floors etc were dirty and I mean DIRTY! My husband stepped on the damp shower mat from the shower earlier and it was black from his feet, sooooo gross!

My wife and I stayed here for her birthday, and we will never stay here again. I’m shocked at how many good reviews there are for this place. For the rates they charge, on a weekday no less, what you get is a tiny motel room with a lack of upkeep. Our options were limited because we wanted a pet friendly spot (more on that later), but I expected a much better experience. We visited in the middle of a heat wave, and all you get in your room is a small wall A/C unit that doesn’t go below 72 degrees and sounds like a jet engine. The bathroom was in terrible condition, and the bed was 3 feet from the front door that had a huge gap on the bottom, so not only could you hear everything outside your room but the huge gap also allowed the heat to easily get in so the room never stayed cool during the day. The photos they provide on their website are very misleading. Feel free to compare them to the photos I took. I decided to pay extra for a Premium room instead of the Classic, thinking we’d get a nicer room and/or a view of the ocean. We got neither. The pictures on their website and other websites show an ocean view with a room that looks nothing like the room we got. The only difference between a Premium and Classic room is what level you’re on (the Premium rooms are on the second floor). My last gripe is with the pet policy. They charge you a $150 pet fee, but their policy is that you cannot leave your pet in the room alone. We’ve stayed at a number of pet friendly hotels and this is the first time we’ve come across this ridiculous policy. The fact that it was a pet friendly motel didn’t prevent some other guests from complaining to the front desk about our dog barking (a 7 lb Maltese). I would have loved to have had a conversation with whoever complained twice in one day about our dog barking. Both complaints were in the middle of the day. Why are you in your crappy room during a beautiful day? If you have a problem with dogs barking at a pet friendly hotel/motel, don’t stay at a pet friendly hotel. There’s plenty of other places to stay in Montauk that aren’t pet friendly. I highly recommend staying anywhere other than here.

This beachside motel looks like your typical older motel, but has spacious rooms and beds that were nicer than some in much fancier hotels. Check out the ice cream and slovaki restaurant down the street.
