Lots of people know the story of Japan's most- loved dog, the ever- loyal Hachiko. Few know that Hachiko moved to Tokyo from Odate. This statue is at the Odate train station, and there's an Akita museum in the sort- of downtown area. (Hachiko was an Akita breed.)
