The aircraft, vehicles and artifacts in the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum are rare treasures of military technology — a testament to the era’s engineering skill and humanity’s spirit during the world conflicts of the 20th century. On rotation in our working hangar are military artifacts from the United States, Britain, Germany, Soviet Union and Japan, acquired by Paul G. Allen and restored with unparalleled authenticity to share with the public. FHCAM is operated by Friends of Flying Heritage, a 501(c)(3) organization committed to educating people about these rare historic aircraft and artifacts. The museum is currently experiencing rapid growth, bringing in exciting new wonders like the Republic F-105 Thunderchief, de Havilland Mosquito and dozens of new artifacts in 2017.
This is great military museum. The museum covers mostly world war 2 and cold war military vehicles. Most are airplanes but there is a section for land vehicles, a small section for naval history as well and even a corner for animals. This museum is very well done. I highly recommend it.

Historic Flight Foundation offers a collection of the most important aircraft produced between 1927 and 1957 - all restored and airborne again. Our mission goes beyond serving as trustees of an era. We want you to experience the roar of our F8F “Wampus Cat” taking off. Watch engineers at work restoring the aircraft to flying condition. Share the rush of viewing international treasures from all angles. Experience history in motion.
A panel of three WW II pilots shared their experiences at Saturday's event. So many stories there and so much experience was shared; then we shifted outdoors to see two WWII planes fly over the field in formation. Several other planes were featured with docents who could answer your questions. All the planes are maintained to be flight worthy at any time.

Our children, ages 8, 10 & 12, all enjoyed this museum. They learned some stuff with the help of the scavenger hunt, but they especially enjoyed the kids' play area. There are multiple hands on exhibits. There is also a gift store. You can ring a bell if you give a donation. The museum is down by the Harborside Fountain Park and the ferry terminal.

The U.S. Naval Undersea Museum is an official U.S. Navy museum. Our mission is to collect, preserve, and interpret naval heritage and operations for the benefit of the U.S. Navy and the people of the United States. Admission and parking are FREE!
The museum does a wonderful job of putting technical information into laymans terms without dumming it up. One does need an interest in the sea or Navy to throughly enjoy. The building and sourrounding are fantastic. Well worth a stop.

The Pacific Northwest Naval Air Museum (formerly the PBY-Naval Air Msueum) presents the history of Naval aircraft based at NAS Whidbey Island and other Air Stations throughout the Pacific Northwest from WWI through the present. Exhibits include an actual PBY-5A aircraft, many interactive exhibits including flight simulators that are favorites of kids, young and old.
The museum was awesome, great information about the history of the PBY Catalina and the workers there knew even more. They answered the questions I had very well and were extremely friendly. I would definitely go again and I would donate again as I heard they are trying to move into a bigger space so they can display even more of what they have. The workers there even stayed late to show us the plane on the other side as we had come about 45 minutes before closing. Amazing museum. Highly recommended.

This is one of the best smaller military museums I have been to. It is a lot larger on the inside than it appears from the I-5 freeway nearby. It covers all U.S. wars in a general way with specific attention given to vets of the surrounding geographical area. Its collection of smaller hand and crew-fed weapons is vast. The collection includes a Sten machine gun, and I could not recall seeing one before. It has specific hours and a modest entrance fee.

The Willapa Seaport Museum is truly a world class museum. It is full, and I mean FULL of artifacts from every form of seafaring, with much of the attention focused on the Pacific Northwest. It is well organized, beautifully managed and maintained, and meticulously documented. Our volunteer docent took us through the museum pointing out particularly important or interesting parts of each display, then allowed us to go back to displays that especially attracted us. I had little knowledge of much of the seafaring world and learned a great deal. I regret we had not enough time to go through it in greater detail, but I also appreciate that it's close enough that I will plan on spending more time there next time.
