Reviews on Middle Eastern food in Batu Ferringhi, Penang, Malaysia. The beaches are a huge draw, but there’s so much more to do in this Malaysian hotspot. Frolic with the delicate residents of a butterfly farm, then explore the fragrant landscape of tropical spice garden and fruit farms. The massive collection of dolls, games and models at the Toy Museum brings joy to kids and kids at heart. Save some energy for the Night Market, a lively scene of stalls where good-natured bargaining skills come in handy.
Things to do in Batu Ferringhi
A humble middle eastern food restaurant that has variety of different selection of food. From kebabs to platters to briyani to mandi/kabsa rice and selections of different meat to go along side it.
We ate at this wonderful restaurant twice on a recent stay at the Holiday Inn. Itâs across the road from some well established places but this one has the best chapatti, Dahl and the most wonderful service. Our customised lassi was very refreshing! Being vegetarians we cannot comment on other dishes.Wish we crossed the road earlier in our stay.
We introduce new concept that is Eat what you want Pay as you feel
My family were there last night for dinner. We went at their almost closing time but the kindhearted manager let us in. The food were good. And the best part was we can eat whatever we want and pay as much as we want to. I think the first restaurant using this concept in Penang. If you plan to visit Penang, I highly recommend to visit tgis restaurant. It is situated next to Yahomg Art Gallery, Batu Ferringhi.

Read my other reviews. I am very positive and give good ratings.Where do I start here. Well they got the order wrong and insisted on serving food we never ordered. Despite us requesting they take it back they passed it around and when they finally took it back, it still appeared on the bill. The service. Just placed the food in front of me and asked me to spread it amongst the 9 guests. Seriously? And then there were the 2 star bucks cups they refused to clear from the table. They would clear everything else bar that. Now I get that this came from outside, but we spent over 600 MYR there and that is not really a big deal. The food was just ok. Just don't order the fries which were drenched in dirty oil.The shisha... where do I start. The 2 we ordered just were too hard to smoke, and despite asking them to fix it, the response was we aren't using it correctly. Oh from a group that smoked Shisha every night elsewhere. Now we still had a smile on our face. And we walked out with a smile. But not even a thank you for coming nor farewell was coming.Save yourself and walk another 50m (or walk back) and get directed to a table at the Lebanon Restaurant, where the food, service & value for money are greater. The 1st and last time I would visit this place.

No specific website but included in lots of food and restaurant listings for the area
We came on a Wednesday evening around nine o,clock when the night market and the restaurant was nearly empty. We had a nice selection of different foods and platters, staff very friendly, and we enjoyed the taste very much. The restaurant looks much nicer and cleaner than the restaurants besides but the price level is similar. Get better atmosphere and food for the same price !

Having visited maroush previously we were looking forward to a return trip. We chose to inside but not in air conditioned room although outside seating is offered. The service here is very friendly and laid back making for a nice atmosphere. On this occasion we chose from the Arabic menu, they also have an Indian menu on offer. We had humuus to start which had just the right consistency and came with very nice warm flatbread. Our main courses were chicken tagine and lamb tagine and were not as good as the humuus they needed more spice and the lamb was a little fatty for my taste. We had pineapple juice to drink, all of their fruit juices are freshly made and very nice. Ml

Reading the reviews we didn't know where to go or not to this restaurant..... But actually I'm glad we did!!!Food was great, service was friendly and portions were more than enough. We have shared platters for starters and mains (meat one for mains) and it all tasted fresh and very nice flavors, as this food should be.If this was the std I received last night then I couldn't fault it. Only comment I would have is to make sure you order starters as starters and say you want the mains after, they brought ours all together, which wasn't a problem as it was nice to graze. If you are like us, un decided then go, you won't regret it, like we didn't.Actually better food and quality than the Shangri-La where we were stopping!!

Went to this restaurant a few times on holiday and wished we could have gone more. The first time we had no idea what to order and the menu does not have a description of the meal so we asked the waiter for recommendations. Most of us decided to try a taste plate with a side of biriyani & naan bread. The small taste plate with the 2 sides was more than enough for two people. The food was beautiful and the following trips we got more adventurous with our orders. Favourites were the lamb chops, Chicken tandoori biriyani & garlic naan. Sitting out overlooking the beach & sunset is also worth the visit.

We were advised by the owner, who was a smiley and friendly man, what to choose when we arrived. He noted that we were vegan and vegetarian and made sure we enjoyed an authentic Turkish lunch whilst in Batu Ferringhi. We shared the falafal platter which consisted of falafal, humus, salad and pirra bread and a fattoush salad. Would reccomend both these dishes. Personally I'd have liked th pitta bread warmed up, but it was still tasty. The portion of humus was quite small too. We saw people eating wraps and these looked excellent as well. The owner then offered us free tea on the house which we drank with some amazing baklava. The service was fantastic: despite how busy they were, the 2 staff members aimed to deliver the best service possible. 2 meals, a dessert and 2 drinks came to only 60 RM. We will be back.

Donât know who writes reviews but our experience as horrible.Drinks cocktails just juice. Our meal was very late n 2 other tables who came well after us got there meals first. Questioned waiter n was told western still meals are quicker to make / cook. We has satay prawns so how hard was that n they came battered n not nice i think over cooked. The other sizzling steak hot plate hard to eat n chewy at best. No real sunset to see that night place out of town so not worth the visit. They could not even get the grab or taxi to come they were that bad.To top it off live music, wow a collection of 60âs music how to kill a night. No interest in this place n really give it a big miss
