Taqueria offering "Super Tacos" and other unique items on its menu.
On a search for a different lunch place in Weslaco a friend steered me here. He told me I would love it. He was so right! I ordered one of the Super Tacos....a 14â taco filled with rice, brisket, sausage and cheese. The only problem was that at 1:30pm, they were out of Brisket. I asked if they could sub Fajitas for the brisket and they abliged. It was absolutely delicious! A perfect mix of flavors in a taco so big I had to quit about 2/3 the way through. My buddy was right, I shouldnât have eaten the delicious chips and salsa. The only problem at Orale, they ran out of brisket and unsweet tea. It is good enough though to overlook that. Which I did...and went back for breakfast the next day. My buddy had a breakfast taco which was, again, huge and delicious. I opted for the gringo breakfast. The fluffy pancakes were indeed fluffy and filling. The eggs and sausage quite good. The bacon was ok. The potatoes...like the âhash brownsâ you get at fast food restaurants. Oh, and they didnât have any tea yet. Ultimately, a great find! Just donât go too late, or too early....they might not have your favorite.
We have been here several times, whenever we visit the Valley. For great food and authentic local atmosphere, this is the place. People come here to have a good time. I highly recommend the Guacamole Mexicano and the camarones cerviche. I haven't had a bad meal here. Also, the margaritas are very good. One is usually enough. The place is very clean and the wait staff very good. Though it can be noisy at times, the loud laughter and conversations can be contagious. The waiters may not speak English, but that can easily overcome with pointing.
Taco Palenque(R) is mainly known for its authentic Mexican Food. It has become the ultimate place to spend time with family and friends while enjoying a meal. The Best Fajitas in Texas!!!
Had to have a quick meeting place for about 12 people and even they the restuarant does not have a private room,we got 14 chairs together and had a very good group "eat" and "Talk". The management and employees were extremely kind and courteous and helped all they could to get our orders right. The manager that morning"Felipe" was great along with his staff..PLUS the food, tacos, and the extras(full condiment bar) was above average. Would recommend it to anyone. They make it fresh as your order. Great service and food!
I had the Fiesta Plate which had a Chicken Enchilada, Fajita Taco, Beef Flauta, Guacamole, Rice and Charro Beans. All this for $10.25. We have eaten here many times over the years an this is the best plate that I have had there. My wife had chalupas, which she enjoyed. The of course give chips and salsa before the meal. In addition to the salsa they also include a cheese sauce. The food is great. if you visit Alamo it is a place everyone should try.

Had a party of 12 and were sat down right away on a Saturday night. Servers were friendly but distracted.Various food options, seafood or mexican or both. Plates had generous servings and tasty. We decided for individual plates, instead of botanas, but would recommend the botanas.I had the fajitas and shrimp and it was decent, so was the carne guisada, the green enchiladas were a little salty. Since movign to this location there has been a decline from the old location.A good place to eat and try different options for all.

Planned to eat across the border in Progreso but everything shuts down around 7p. We drove by Nana's on the way to the border and noticed all the cars and festive atmosphere. Decided to take a chance and and I'm so glad we did. There's a large patio area and Friday night a duo was playing great upbeat tunes. We decided not to wait for an outdoor table and were promptly seated inside. Our table enjoyed the guacamole appetizer which was so fresh. For our meal we had the Progreso original beef tacos and the vegetarian tacos both were super tasty! You do not received the same old bowl and chips and salsa when seated, instead you are treated to individual cups of charro beans and several delicious sauces. The prices are very good and the quality of the food is outstanding.

We started with the chips and salsa. ..fresh and warm.... Delicious!Sweet tea..... Delicious...We ordered a parallita, which to me it means botana and in plain English a platter of steak and chicken, nachos, quesadillas, bolillos, also deep fried rolled up corn tortillas with chicken in them and other delicious food. On the side was rice, guacamole, peppers, jalapenos, lettuce, tomatoes and avacados. We also had frijoles alacharra (pinto beans in their own little soup.) So delicious! Plus wait.......home made tortillas! In this order you can order for 2 people, 4 people or six people. We ordered for 2 people and they serve you alot. We had left overs. My nephew who is 6 feet tall and plays college basketball ( I thought I would throw that in.)( Fear the Goat!) ordered 3 cheese enchiladas with rice and beens. When he was done with that platter he also helped himself to the botana. When the live band started at 8:00 pm, it was pretty loud and we could not hear ourselves talk. They sang great 70 s songs. So in the future when we go back, we will go earlier so we can hear ourselves talk! Thank you Mr. Ever ( Spanish name Ãevêr).....you were a fantastic server. So professional and good to get along with.
