Find out what Mexican restaurants to try in Uruapan. Uruapan is the second largest city in the Mexican state of Michoacán. It is located at the western edge of the Purépecha highlands, just to the east of the Tierra Caliente Region. Since the colonial period, it has been an important city economically due its location. The city was conquered by the Spanish in 1522, when the last Purépecha ruler fled the Pátzcuaro area to here. The modern city was laid out in 1534 by Friar Juan de San Miguel. It played an important role in the War of Independence, and was the capital of Michoacán during the French Intervention. Today it is the center of Mexico’s avocado growing region, with most of the crop distributed from here nationally and internationally.

We are a Mexican company dedicated to creating natural palettes ice cream and the best quality. We want you to enjoy every bite, tasting the exotic flavor of Mexican fruit mixed with the creaminess of the avocado, the softness of milk or cool water. Each
Nice place next to the upper entry of the national park.Comfortable and evolved with sound of the running water of the river next to the restaurant.Speciality is the trout with macadamia nut but you can enjoy other different preparation styles. Other dishes such as chicken or meat are on the menu as well. For dessert try their ice on stick. My kids loved it Enjoy

This place have a wide range of ice creams and ice pop "paletas" made with local and exotic fruits. Like the avocado-maracuya, passion fruit-vanilla, coffee and my favorite: macadamia nut.If you visit the national park, at one of the entries there's a small business that offers the Urani ice snacks.

On a trip to Patzcuaro, Michoacan, with my young sons, I introduced them to Mexican "street food" inside the public market on the north side of the big main plaza. Here, at the Mercado de Antojitos, inside the market proper, the merchants and vendors take repast at a bunch of stalls with steaming, cafeteria-style what-not's, all based around the corn kitchen's concept of "little bits." Tacos, enchiladas, finger food, tingas, asadas, and so forth. The boys plopped up on big cushioned seats and the senoras were smiling and carrying on, you'd thought an old friend had dropped in. Not only were the prices less precious if not downright bargain, the senoras keep piling on the food. Look for the stall that has the best business and you can't miss. This is one of the last vestiges of traditional Mexican fare. No frills, just the real thing.

Hotel dining room - same name of hotel
I have eaten here many times over the last 8 years and this last trip continued to please. With no turkey in sight we had our Thanksgiving dinner here, choosing from the items that were prepared table-side. The steak and the salmon were flamed with skill and were perfectly done as requested, with crepes Suzette for desert. The salads have lovely presentations, the soups are delicious. I recommend the avocado or the macadamia. Service is very attentive. On the weekends they still have live guitar music. There is also outside seating and always lovely linens. The entry through the garden of the hotel is beautiful.

A local friend recommended this restaurant for breakfast and in our first visit the hall experience was outstanding. There is a parking lot for clients, the service was great, fast and the dishes very traditional and delicious. I ordered cecina with chile guajillo and it was one of the greatest dishes I´ve ever had. The place is very ordinary but perfect for breakfast and brunch,
