Hardly ever we do not recommend a restaurant, but in this case, we cannot help it. because nothing worked out:Arrival: they won't respect who arrived first to assign you a table. If you skip the line and go, they will seat you. I told the manager that I was ahead of the person who was skipping the line and he looked at me as if I was doing something wrong. Seriously?Terrible service: It took them more than 10 minutes to bring the menu and another 10 to get our drinks.Food: We ordered an appetiser recommend by the waiter and it was a total regret. Bad taste, poor presentation and way too greasy. After that we decided not to order the main dish.

The restaurant decoration is welcoming and inviting. The staff are friendly, observant and attentive.Menu is simple and the selection is good. The mashed potato with arrachera and cheese we can recommend.

Fusion Coucine, Wine Selection, Spanish-Mexican Food Cooking Jose Luis Revuelta, the Chef
Our luncheon meal at Café Revuelta was magical. Our waiter, the son of the chef, sensed that we were having a hard time making choices for our lunch. He asked what we did not like to eat, whether we had allergies, and what we really liked to eat. At that moment he asked if we would trust him to prepare some dishes for us. What followed was a meal to remember. We started with a mixed salad of greens and goat cheese. The cheese made the dish. We have found that many of the cheeses in Mexico are not the most flavorful. This one was an exception. It was very flavorful and made the salad a great start.Next, were three flat tacos with chicken and mole. Extremely flavorful and not too heavy. I have been to Oaxaca and some of the moles there can be very heavy. This was not. And, the consistency and taste were outstanding. The next plate was some noodles (linguine) with cheese. Here again, the cheese had a real âkickâ to hit. It was very flavorful. The noodles tasted as good as they do in Italy. I didnât ask but they must have been made using semolina flour. Finally, we had two tacos â one filled with beef, pork and vegetables and the other with beef and potatoes. What a combination and what flavors. Our waiter was ready to offer another dish but we told him that we were more than satisfied. We had a delicious wine to accompany our lunch. I am not sure why it is called a Gastrobar. There wasnât a bar in this smallish restaurant. Not sure what the other restaurant (more later) looks like. I also forgot to ask the waiter about the title of Gastrobar. At this point the waiter introduced us to his father, the chef, and his mother, the manager. They all work seven days a week and love what they are doing â and it shows.Casa Revuelta is a small restaurant that serves lunch and dinner just outside of Tequisquiapan in a small âstrip mallâ. However, on weekends it serves meals in their âotherâ restaurant located in a vineyard outside of Tequisquiapan. If you come to Tequisquiapan and donât eat here, you will have made a BIG MISTAKE!

El Maravillas at first glance might not impress, but the food is excellent and the location convenient. This is a fine place to drink a cold beer and relax. The menu was certainly designed with some attention, and unique dishes and ingredient combinations are numerous. Not overly abundant but well served, try the seafood in its various options. The price is slightly above average (at least what you'd expect from this kind of food) but in the end it's worth it.An unfortunate element was the service. Non-smiling, non-attentive waiters seem to be the norm. Barely clinging to their jobs, these guys do the minimum to maintain things working. Our requests (like switching tables or getting more napkins, nothing outrageous) were met with frowning and somewhat negative disposition. It is a shame, since the food is really good.Furniture is cheap but clean. Glassware, cutlery, etc. are in good condition. The decoration is simple but elegant and suiting, modern and sophisticated. One thing I did not like: there was a huge dog inside the dining room. There might be stores or malls that tolerate pets---in a serious, established restaurant I find this unacceptable.Another, even more serious thing I did not like: there's no control for smokers. Mexico is quickly becoming a non-smoker country via the strict new laws. I don't really care if it's a friend of the owner: smoking is not allowed inside any restaurant, by law. There's an outside section for that. No excuses.Recommended, with caution.

This restaurant offers a variety of well made dishes, but there's a little bakery shop, part of the same restaurant just breaking the street on the corner.Their specialty is cheese bread, honestly is not the greatest cheese bread in the world, maybe not even in the state, but thy sell it literally as "pan caliente", people have to wait in line outside the store. The service is efficient, polite and fast, good prices also and, as i mentioned the bread is fairly good. I recommend the carrot muffin, and the chocolate trensa, way better than the fluffy rolls of cheese.

Wonderful breakfast fare. Am lucky to be staying in an Airbnb offering just across the street. Large portions; wonderful fresh fruit, as mentioned in many other reviews. Still need to get there for lunch which I will do before leaving this fabulous colonial town. Not to be forgotten: GREAT coffee which can be hard to find for those who like it strong, without being an expresso.

We offer traditional Gorditas made out of Massa (Pastry made out of corn), with tipical mexican stuffings (cheese, meat and vegan options). Morover we serve 100% natural, handmade, prime quality orange and tangerin juices and fresh Café de Olla.
Small but very cozy place, carefully decorated. Gorditas are prepared on the traditional mexican comal and there's variety of meat and vegetarian options for stuffing. My favorites are tinga de res (meat) and rajas con crema (vegetarian). Highly recommendable!

Check out a diferent version of an ancestral prehispanic dish, enjoy with all its flavors and textures. And let us give you our mexican very very special atention. We´re going to be a "must" in your next travel to Tequisquiapan.
We had the chicken green pozole and the red pork pozole. I felt that both were over heated and the pork one was too greasy. The customer service is good but unfortunately the pozole is not. Maybe their other dishes are better. In the name of kauil team:Thank you to take the time and coment and show us how we can grow!!Is great to know we have lot of things to learnwe hope next time you get Tequisquiapan, you can visit us and check the change. we are already working on.ATT: Carlos Aguirre

Our specialty is traditional food from the state of Queretaro made from cactus and local seasonal products
We sat outside in December and had breakfast. Only when I went in to the toilet did I realise how big the restaurant is and how many people were in there. The choice was wide and we went for a variety of omelettes plus a French toast. Each was the largest we have seen in Mexico and were well cooked. We were brought a small Prosecco to celebrate their 31st anniversary ... and that is probably as good a sign as any. Itâs on the main square to right of church (as you face church) and you canât miss it.Dear Michael,Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We are pleased that you had the chance to join us in our celebration. We hope you had a good time and that you enjoy the rest of your stay in Mexico.

Beautiful palapa in the heart of Tequisquiapan, Querétaro where steaks, burgers and drinks are served from Monday until Sunday from 1 pm until 11 pm.
Had a great meal here tonight -- I definitely recommend the ribs! What really made the evening great though was getting to know the manager, who is friendly, warm, and chatted with us for a while about shared experiences. Definitely make a stop here in Tequis, get the ribs and some beers, and relax!
