I was driving thru this section of South Houston and noticed the Mexican restaurant and decided to give it a try. While plain on the outside, the restaurant parking lot was packed... A good sign. The inside decor was eclectic and interesting. I really liked the feel of the front section of the restaurant (didn't go to the newer, back section.). The place was full and people continued to pour in to eat. The salsa that comes with the chips was excellent. I had the enchiladas Mexicanas. While it was rated spicy... I found it to be mild. However, it tasted extremely good. The corn tortillas were perfect. I liked the green sauce. The guacamole was good... Even better when mixed with the salsa. My dinner companion had the crispy tacos with ground beef and found them delicious. The options on the menu included more traditional fare than one sees on a typical chain tex-mex restaurant. I paid attention to neighboring tables and several we're going for the more traditional dishes and they looked/ smelled good The drinks also were goodThe service was a little slow... Bit considering how busy the place was.... I understood. The waitress was very nice, however. The clientele was mostly families. Many looked as if they had just came from church. The front room had a couple of big screen tvs that were playing the football game. They have a full bar.I would recommend this place.

I am not sure where these people went that are saying they didn't enjoy Casarez, but I know I certainly do. Their food is good, their prices are low, and their basic, simple margaritas are inexpensive and wonderful. Bobby, the owner, is always coming around to the tables and speaks to everyone and the waitstaff remember me everytime and greet me with a smile. The mexican hamburger is DELICIOUS - served on a sizzling platter with a huge grilled bun and fresh cut fries on the side. I order the flautas on a regular basis, as well as the Mixed Grill (which is a fajita plate with beef, chicken, pork and shrimp, for about $12). This is a nice, comfortable atmosphere, very down to earth. Highly recommended.

From the first bite I knew this place was going to be great. Homemade pico de gallo and you can sit and watch as they make the tortillas.

I ate here once a week while working in the area. I took my wife for the excellent food, but got surprised looks from the locals, being two gringos. The food is always excellent as well as the prices. Have not been disappointed in anything I tried, but the fajita burritos are my favorite.

Whole fried tilapia is served correctly. Crispy, head-on and the gills are cut out. A few slices on the skin would add texture so I’ll ask for that next time. We ordered several dishes because we kept seeing great stuff coming outside of the kitchen. If it’s packed just wait a minute and get your seat. Please quit inviting Guy Fieri here. This is world famous and it doesn’t need more business. I like to eat here vs stand in line. Ring me up if you’re headed there and I’ll meet you if I can. If not, just order up something and think of me and my review that brought you there. Best of travels,Me

A friend from out of town was in the mood for some Tex-Mex and Gringo's was in the area. The food and service were good. Portion sizes were plentiful and the menu selection and prices were typical for a Tex-Mex restaurant. With several other restaurants sharing the parking lot parking was the only drawback.

Ninfa's Mexican Restaurant

Reviewed By condorchristi

First and foremost, Ninfa's comes in between the "cheapy" Mexican food and the "Mexican Cuisine" crowd. I'm not saying you have to moderate your expectations in any way but know that for $10.99 a plate, you're not getting cuisine or hoity-toity food. What you are getting is delicious Mexican food that is served in generous portions and is a good value considering what you get for your money at other places. The service on my latest visit in Mid October 2018 was exemplary. Could not be happier. Plenty of televisions are around your tables and at the bar. But it is, somehow, a more "classy" place than that entails. There is a seating area where you can wait for your party (I'm one of those who'd rather wait for the whole party before going to my table). One little snipe is that the chip basket is too small. They refill it constantly but the basket itself is too small. That's it! Love the place; can't wait to return.

Oh wow! We stayed nearby after our connection flight was cancelled. After a quick search of nearby restaurants we decided to Uber here. The salsa is easily the best salsa we’ve ever tasted. The carne asada and the tour of El Paso were FANTASTIC!!!!!!! Everything has such amazing flavor! My husband said “I don’t like mole sauce”. When his food came out he said “mmm... this mole sauce is great!” I said “I thought you didn’t like mole sauce” and he replied “well I like THIS mole sauce!”
