Mucho Gusto

Fresh authentic Mexican cuisine. Gluten free items available. Vegan Vegetarian items available. Beer, wine, & margaritas

My friend and I visited Mucho Gusto after eating at two other Santa Fe restaurants where the green and red sauces came close to burning the skin off our lips and the tequila in Margaritas tasted like diesel oil!! Okay, perhaps we’re lightweights but.....!Mucho Gusto greeters were right at the door when we entered and welcomed us warmly. They quickly located our reservation and seated us.The margaritas were delicious although probably to sweet for many people. For our appetizer we ordered the simple chips with green and red sauces. The red sauce was quite spicy but the green sauce, made with tomatillos was wonderfully fresh and mild.My friend ordered the Chalupos with chicken and I had the Suiza Enciladas. These enchiladas lacked the creamy cheesiness that I love but they were still quite tasty. Again, the spiciness of these two entrees allowed us to enjoy the meal without being too spicy. The restaurant is a bit hard to locate, being in the far corner inside a square "strip" mall. It's wise to call for reservations as the restaurant is quite popular.

I had 3 lunches and two dinners with not a single flaw. The staff was warm and attentive. I never ran out of interesting things to try. This is a place with obvious standards.

La Choza

La Choza was recommended by some friends for authentic NM food, and they did not steer us wrong! I may have to shame Colorado for this, but the trend to make crispy chili rellenos by wrapping them in an egg roll wrapper and stuff them with jack cheese is a travesty. It is a lazy alternative to making them authentically with egg batter and panela cheese. I was in chili relleno heaven at La Choza because they make the real deal and they are delicious! I usually bring home half of my food when I eat out, but I ate every bite of both rellenos and the rice and beans too! Not to mention that the blue and yellow corn tortilla chips and salsa are worth the $5 they charge. Normally I am offended by places that charge for chips and salsa when they are straight out of a bulk bag, but the charge for these was justified. We didn’t leave a crumb behind. My husband got chicken enchiladas and they were also wonderful. His margarita was also the best he’s had in NM.

This place was exactly what we were looking for after 8 days on the Mother Road. Gabriel, our waiter was the BEST. He was attentive and knowledgeable. Talked to us about all different kinds of tequila and made recommendations where we could go buy different brands in Santa Fe. The food was delicious and quite upscale at a reasonable price. We sat on the upstairs outside balcony overlooking the square. It was a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this place.

Food and drinks real good. Happy hour is from 4pm to 6pm. And they also have 1/2 price appetizers (except guacamole and chips. The salsa is great, spicey for sure.I like that the food is all made from scratch. The menu has a variety not just mexican, sandwiches, fish , burgers and chicken fried steak just for example. The deserts look yummy! Before we leave we will skip the appetizer and have desert.Thank you Robert M. And Claudia for great dining experience.

Cafe Pasquale’s is a Santa Fe icon for a reason — great (and creative) food with a terrific sense of Santa Fe place! Especially good for breakfast. One great menu example: Poached eggs on avocado toast and applewood smoked baked (seeded bread, of course). Always packed, so plan accordingly. Every visit to SF should include breakfast or lunch at Cafe Pasquale’s.
