Amazing food with huge portions. However, i recommend visiting between the hours of 6 am - 2 pm while the food is still fresh.

The place isn't much to look at and the location is interesting. But it was so worth it! Food was great and our waitress was so sweet. The chicken enchiladas were divine. Prices were great for the amount of food received. I would highly recommend it.

Stopped by for a quick bite and was very surprised and pleased with our choice of lunch venues. Despite it being the peak of the lunch rush, the service was great and the place was extremely clean. My wife and I each ordered the lunch special (burrito plate) and when it arrived at the table (within 5 minutes), we quickly realized there was WAY more food than we could possibly eat. Ended up immediately asking for a "to go" container and packaged up one of the plates to take home.Portions are very generous and the food was excellent. Wife and I agreed it was some of the tastiest Mexican food we had eaten in San Angelo so far. The queso sauce on the burritos was very tasty, with just a hint of "spiciness". The refried beans were some of the most flavorful we have ever eaten and the rice was excellent as well. Prices were extremely reasonable and the wait staff very friendly. We will definitely be checking out their other "lunch specials" in the future!

Iâm not sure in what world this restaurant is âworld famous.â We went for lunch. The chips are not bad; the salsa was like chunky ketchup. We asked for the hot stuff the locals eat and thankfully, it was better. We had beef tacos, rice and beans. Having had excellent tacos the day before in Midland, La Chilangaâs version was more comparable to an upscale Taco Bell version. The rice and beans were just rice and beans and were not remarkable. If you like Americanized, gringo Mexican food, you will like La Chilanga. If you are expecting more authentic Mexican food, go somewhere else. Service was mediocre. I gave La Chilanga three stars; my husband gave it two stars.

Located at the corner of North Chadbourne and 21st Street, just two miles from the fairgrounds.
It was as great as it has been every time we have been there. Our waiter went out if his way yo be helpful to us.

Yes...I recommend them for dinner. The food was good. The staff was friendly. The only reason they aren't getting a 5 is that my order was totally messed up. They did attempt to fix it and almost got it right. I would eat there again though...so I would include them in your plans for dinner.Thank you for the 4 stars! I'm sorry that we got your order wrong, we hope you give us another try so you can recieve the 5 star service we know we can give. Hope to see you soon!

We have stopped here several times when going through San Angelo. So thankful we read TripAdvisor the first time, when folks raved about this place! Everything we have had has been good; nothing has been disappointing whatsoever. We really like the (hope this is the right name) chicken or beef fajita quesadillas a lot. A little busy usually but service is fairly quick.

I came here because Trip Advisor lists this as having âMexican, American, Vegetarianâ ..... they do NOT have a vegetarian menu selection. I asked the server if I could get veggie fajitas and she said they should be able to do that. I asked them to go light on the jalapeños - I only wanted a FEW. I have acid reflux and although I love hot peppers, I cannot tolerate spicy hot food. When the food came out, the tortillas were not fresh ... they were tough and chewy. I put a few jalapeño slices on my fajitas and picked the rest out. Half of my veggies were jalapeños. When I told the server, she was very apologetic but didnât offer ANYTHING to make up for it. When I got my bill, it was for beef fajitas. I only had water and no sides or dessert and my bill was $16. When I went to pay, I told the gentleman at the register about my experience. Again, he was apologetic but offered no resolution. The food was tasty and my server was nice, but I donât think I would come here again. Especially if you are on a vegetarian or vegan diet, there are other restaurants in the area to choose from. They are unwilling to take care of customer complaints.

I was visiting Goodfellow AFB on Navy business and this was one of the restaurants recommended for lunch or dinner. So I tried it out on a Tuesday night. It didn't disappoint. I ordered the chicken tapatios and they didn't were very good. My waitress Samantha was attentive and offered me an alternative salsa when the regular was just a little too hot for me. I would go again.
