Things to do in Ramona
While living in Ramona, CA, we visited El Taco Loco (inside Ramona Market) at least once a month for their delicious food! It's definitely a hole in the wall, but it's good! Expect them to be busy when you arrive. Try the California Burrito, Carne Asada Fries or Shrimp Ceveche, those were our favorites. We also loved their trays of tacos. We would get the 20 taco deal with rice and beans and it would feed our family for a few days. It even includes salsa and toppings.
Good Mexican food. I had the rellenos/enchilada plate. Everything was tasty and fresh. Seems like a popular spot. If I'm in the area, I would go again.
Been here about a dozen times, always gotten good service, and great food. Open 24hrs with drive thru/outdoor tables, or eat in your car with parking close by. We will stop here early am on our way out of town for camping/dirt bike riding, etc. A+ carne asada burritos, breakfast burritos made to order, rice/bean/cheese burritos, good salsa/carrots/jalapenos for sides. Large portions, friendly workers, reasonable prices. Recommended to our friends.

A gem of a find Mexican eatery in Ramona. Service was a little slow but there was only one waitress working the front and she was doing great, one cook in the back doing the meals. Food was hot & excellent. Everyone had a different dish and all were great with plenty of left overs for lunch the next day!

If you want authentic, order the chile verde. It's my favorite. Yet it is not green, so just be prepared for that. Burritos are so-so, they make them healthier than they should be so, hey, there's that. The little ones love tacos, quesadillas, and, of course, taco water (haha).

Mi Ranchito has gone way down in quality. The last couple times I have been there the food has been terrible. If you want regular guacamole you must ask for it or they will just put green sour cream on it. Last time I brought my food back to ask for extra guacamole the lady's behind the counter looked at me funny then started talking trash about me in Spanish as if I couldn't understand them. I have eaten here many times over the years hoping that just maybe it has gotten better but I am disappointed each time. There are lots of Mexican food restaurants in Ramona to choose from, I recommend choosing a different one.

If you are in Ramona or just passing through, this is a good eatery. The chips and salsa are addicting, the food comes pretty fast and the service is better than most places. It is a small restaraunt but Iâve never had to wait for a table. I always see locals drinking at the bar but Iâm not a drinker so can not rate the drinks.

Calling it cuisine isn't really the proper name. This is real satisfying Mexican food. Family owned and breaking in the 3rd or 4th generation. The Super Tostada is great. The enchiladas are great. Both are available in shredded beef or chicken. The carne asada is also high on the "got to have it" list.Everything is hand made and prepared to order. Not fancy, in fact it's lovingly called the warehouse. It may be a little hard to find, just off the main street but definitely make the effort to find it. You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I decided to try La Cocina after reading the reviews when we had an overnight stay in Ramona. Unfortunately, things must have really changed recently. The placee was busy which was a good sign but, the service was lack luster and the prices were higher across the board than the online menu shows (update your website). The portions were nice sized but: 1) the rice was very plain, 2) the beans lacked any flavor at all, 3) my carnitas was so wet and soupy it turned my tortilla to mush. Maybe it was a bad night but, I certainly wouldn't recommend this place at this time.

Food is fabulous and food quality...smell of restaurant and external ambiance not great but it is the place to go for very good food. There are fish tacos I dream about and the fajitas are huge and food meats. It seems clean so no idea for smell and Iâm a clean freak and picky with food. Super good.
