I stopped here for lunch today. The owner of this restaurant and the owner of Tacos El Norte in Lake Zurich are brothers. I ordered flank steak w/enchilada. Although the food here is good, Tacos El Norte in Lake Zurich has better food, better service, friendlier employees, is much busier, and is cleaner. This restaurant is definitely worth stopping at but it was not quite as good as I was expecting.
We shared a number of vegetarian options. The flavours were uneven. Two of the three street tacos we ordered, lured by the enthusiastic menu descriptions, turned out to be disappointing. The wild mushroom was good, but the fresh tilapia and relleno tacos were bland. The quesadillas, made with a trio of cheeses, was just past meh.The star of the meal was the bowl of elote (street corn). It was fabulous -- possibly the best I've ever had -- and worth a return visit. The horchata had a powdery texture, as if it hadn't dissolved completely. It wasn't clumpy or gritty, but I've never run into that characteristic before.Bottom line -- there are still some vegetarian choices to try, plus at least two desserts that look interesting. And we really loved the street corn. So....we'll give them another chance.

Family got together for a little celebration here. The creations were very interesting but liked authentic Mexican flavor. Several dishes were a mish mosh of ingredients that added up to something-just not real Mexican.
I had lunch here. I ordered the three beef enchiladas platter. It came with beans and rice. Friendly service. While all of the food was very good I thought that the portion overall was a bit small. I was also disappointed that the meal did not include any chips & salsa. I think that Tacos El Norte in Lake Zurich is better for Mexican food.
I attended the ribbon cutting to celebrate there opening. This has been converted from an old KFC ( for the better I would say). They had many of their items to taste.I have to say the food was outstanding and the choices were many.I particularly liked the carne asana tacos and the pollo tacos. The grilled onions were very sweet and tender. After that, I took a Family Order back home for dinner. It included a whole cut up chicken and three sides ( I took the beans, macaroni and cheese and the grilled onions). All the food had a great flavor by themselves and when dipped in the different salsas increased the intensity without being just hot. I didn't pay attention to the menu because it came with the grilled onions and grilled jalapeños so I didn't need to order a side of grilled onions.I can't wait to go back and try the Carne Asada dinner and some of the different tortas. They have just pick up some new customers and some of my friends that I already told about the new place in town. The staff was very informative and friendly.
Nice little mom and pop place. The chili rellenos were good and made a little different than most the usual style you get at most Mexican or Central American restaurants. They also have El Salvadoran pupusas, will try these next time.
This is a clean and efficient small restaurant. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable.

Treat yourself to this restaurant! And, make sure you spit entrees as portions are huge. Fabulously fresh, homemade food. May have been the best guacamole I've ever had. Eclipsing the great dining was amazing service. Our waitress took time to talk our group of first timers through the menu & made great recommendations. She paid attention to our needs---including noticing 1 in our party had a cold. She came back with a glass of room temp water, "because it's better on your throat." One caveat--no liquor served. )But I'd happily give up the margarita to eat here again. )

Food is average. Kind of the fast food of Mexican food. Not that itâs a bad thing per say. Bettter then toro bell, but definitely not as authentic I hoped for. Servers were nice. Keep in mind expensive for what you get. As I always say try it for your self , and decide if itâs for you.

The Menu at UNOâs. Is similar to close suburbs in the area, for the food, cozy feel, and price point I recommend.
