Azteca Restaurante has been open for one year. It is both a fast food drive thru and a sit down restaurant. My wife and I had lunch here last week. We were both pleasantly surprised. The service was very good as the employees were courteous, helpful, and efficient. The chips and salsa was good, but my wife found the chips to be too salty. We both had the Mexican Platter. This is not actually on the menu but our waitress told us she would put together any combination of food items we wanted. The meal came with beans and rice. All of the food was quite good although some if it was a bit boring. We thought that the prices were a great value.Better food than Las Palmas, but not as good as El Barrios or Taco El Norte.Overall we thought the food was a little better than the average Mexican restaurant. We will return here when we are in this area again.
Find your nearby Taco Bell at 900 N. Route 83 in Mundelein. We're serving all your favorite menu items, from classic burritos and tacos, to new favorites like the $5 Double Stacked Tacos Box, Crunchwrap Supreme, Fiesta Taco Salad, and Chalupa Supreme. So
With that being said it's very good for being TB. I always use the drive thru and I've never had issues at this location with getting exactly what I order. Can't say the same thing for other fast food locations.

I lived in El Paso and worked in Mexico for ten years so have some opinions on Mexican food. There is so much bad stuff out there "sanitized" to cater to suburban tastes that it is nice to find a place that serves the same kind of food as they have in Mexico. Great food and budget friendly, we go here at least once a month. Highly recommended.

One of a chain of 3 family run Mexican restaurants in Mundelein and all good. Close to the office and reasonably prices on a large menu, I didn't blend in, and didn't feel out of place. Good basic combination dishes, and friendly attentive service. Little complimentary extras add to the experience.

Place wasn't crowded so I was surprised the service was a bit slow despite what seemed to be adequate staffing. Overall I came away with the impression of feeling full on greasy food. I had the tortilla soup which had LOTS of avocado and was the highlight of the meals. The tortilla chips, the taco, enchilada were all just OK. If you have read my other posts, a LOT of my impression of a place has to do with the quality of the ingredients. A. as I'm getting older I am more conscientious about healthy eating, but I still really enjoy many things that don't fall into the healthy category, SO if I'm going to consume a lot of grams of fat or carb, it better be worth it, aka good quality ingredients with really good flavor. In general I would say I like things LESS salty than the norm, so that bias is always in my reviews too. Noisy and large seating area which is a great place for friends to meet, have a few drinks and get "OK" food.

We had heard this was really good, innovative, cool, etc. but it ended up to be not so great. We tried 4 types of tacos and a big chicken quesadilla between us, and I would actually prefer Taco Bell. The seating was pretty uncomfortable and parking was hard. Servers were very nice and efficient, but we wanted great tacos and they don't have them here. They seem to have a lot of beers and tequila.

Great Atmosphere. Went to El Barrio for a Mundelein Arts Commission Open Mike program. Individuals play instruments, sing, tell stories. People who eat and had drinks enjoyed the place.

Maya's is filled with friendly staff serving savory breakfast creations. My husband had the Farmer's Skillet - layered with hash browns, cheese, eggs, 3 varieties of meats plus assorted veggies. Oftentimes skillets elsewhere pile on the hash browns, lacking blending of flavors. Not at Maya's! This visit I added Banana & Nutella crepes to my usual biscuits & gravy. Excellent texture and flavor to the crepes! The interior is simple and relaxed - easy handicap access, too. One of Mundelein's best restaurants

This place has great Mexican food, at a low price! I had a king size burrito, chips, and a soda for around $7. The food is authentic. The atmosphere is typical Mexican dive, but very clean and welcoming. I highly recommend!

One of our top favorite Mexican restaurants in the entire Chicago Metro area. Located in fashionable and historic downtown Libertyville. Nice atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Small bar, which is good for sports. Best of all is Carmen our favorite waitress. She's been taking care of us for years and always puts a smile on our faces.
