Good food, service, and staff. Very good lunch buffet. I usually eat the pork chop plate. The best pork chops I’ve ever eaten.

We have been eating at La Condessa since we have moved to Midland in 2012. They have awesome food and salsa. They may have one of the best green sauces in town. Breakfast is authentic and so is their regular lunches. Great hamburger too. Service is good and family owned and ran.

Oscar's has become my favorite place for breakfast burritos. I go at least twice a week. I would go more often but then I might have to admit I'm addicted.

Carambas Spanish Inn

Reviewed By BillM551

Carambas is somewhat out of the way being located in an industrial area. Beef fajitas tasted like watery soy sauce and were dripping with liquid. No grilling was evident. Refried beans were runny and rice had little flavor. Chips were the best part of the meal being crisp and tastey. Chili relleno was very hot, almost too hot and spicey to eat. Service was prompt and attentive. This meal was not worth the drive across town.

This place is such a refreshing break from all the chains in town. A fresh, creative menu of tacos ranging from lobster to chicken with an Asian flair is accompanied by a killer bar variety! The "frosés" are best enjoyed out on the breezy patio with your feet propped up :)

Dona Anita's

Classic, basic TexMex diner w/ country music on the radio instead of Mexican Muzak. My first trip was for lunch and I had the carne con papas which was delicious. I always say across cultures it often comes down to just rice and gravy and that's what this dish was. It could have been in mama's kitchen. Went back for dinner the following week and nothing was dressed up for evening. I had the carne asada as featured in Texas Monthly. Not an elaborate presentation, but the meat was so good that it did not matter. Service varied depending on what kind of mood they were in. I ordered a beer that I never received, though the waitress acknowledged before we finished our meal. TV was distracting. Music was loud where we were seated. Simple formica tables and stack chairs in a small dining room.

Cancun Bar & Grill Restaurant, Midland, Texas; website 223 West Wall St.

Reviewed By Cathy P

We love seafood and have trouble finding places that cook it well. When we read the reviews for this place, we decided to try it. We were not disappointed. We ordered the Seafood Enchiladas and Cancun Grill Enchiladas. Each was completely different--SE had a cream sauce, CGE had a mild tomato sauce. What wonderful flavors each had! The lobster taste in the CGE was superb! Then, imagine our surprise to have a tasty coleslaw AND real grilled vegetables with moist, flavorful rice instead of the flavorless beans and rice most places served. The prices were a bit higher ($18 for each meal) but well worth it. Be aware you need to dress up just a bit to fit in.
