Has to be one of the most disappointing meals I've had in a long while... We've been living overseas since 2009, and when we come home to the States the one thing we always want is Mexican food. The expectations were high 1) because it's California! and 2) because the restaurant claimed to be "#1 in Lodi!" Not so much. The restaurant was busy, lots of older couples and teenagers, and a fun decor which seemed promising. The chips and salsa were good, as was the beer selection, so we seemed to be starting strong... but that's where the positives end. After explaining to the server that I was vegetarian, imagine my surprise what my dinner came out smothered in... gravy???? After she checked it was indeed meat gravy (really?), I was brought a sad looking gravy-free version. I could have forgiven them if the naked version tasted okay. But it didn't. My plate included a pretty foul greasy square-shaped chile relleno, bland beans wrapped in a raw flour tortilla that claimed to be a burrito, and something else beany I don't even remember. My husband's meal was equally mystifying, a combo of beef pot roast, tacos, and other items covered in gravy. I wondered if we missed the memo about the gravy, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't listed on the menu... We went to some taquerias on Cherokee Blvd the next day for lunch - yep, a much better choice.
Used to love the food from the deli at this market. Has really gone downhill. Server was rude and inpatient with me asking questions. Containers weren't filled adequately as ordered. Then to top it off anyone who ate the beans got sick. Won't be back.
We arrived just before closing (10:00 pm) on an obviously busy Saturday evening (04/26) - they were wiped out on the chicken and steak selections. 'Matt' behind the counter went the extra mile by grilling fresh beef for my tacos and staff member 'Julia' credited our drinks. The service provided was exceptional and I will be writing this (besides Trip Advisor) to HQ in Denver because they did such a great job even though they were preparing to close for the night. To add, the staff allowed my friend and yours truly to eat in the dining area after the doors were locked. Hey, these kids could have said "Sorry, Charlie"...still, they took the time to grill food for me and I truly appreciated it. We actually ate at this restaurant three time during our time in the Lodi area. They had a nice selection on their menu and very reasonable prices. Wine was a generous glass and Guacamole appetizer a generous portion. We did the build your our combinations each night and were very happy. The first time our cheese enchiladas went astray, but once they knew, new ones came out of the kitchen, which could have been a little hotter. But the other two nights, they were perfect. They have later hours, staying open until 10 pm which worked well for us.
Friends recommended the food. We ordered pork tacos to go. Tacos so flavorful. Enough for two of us for under $6. The little dining room is not very inviting but many customers at Vintage next door order food which passed through a small window. All of the food being prepared looked and smelled good. Definitely returning!

Small place but the food was excellent. We had the shredded beef taco salad. The meat was melt in your mouth tender and flavorful and the salad ingredients were exceptional and artfully arranged. This is hands down my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Lodi!

First time having a meal here. Had heard good things about the food. You walk into the restaurant with maybe 8-10 tables. There are a few tables just outside. Walked right up to the counter and ordered. Choice of different taco meats - Carne Asada, Carnitas, Pollo and Adobada. They also offer a fish or shrimp taco. I chose 2 Chicken tacos, my daughter had a carne asada and a carnitas taco. If you don't want Tacos, they have Burritos, Quesadillas, Nachos etc.. With your order you receive a bag of tortilla chips in a basket. There is a self serve salsa bar area with assorted toppings. Our order came quickly to our table. We really enjoyed our tacos. plenty of tasty meat filling in a small size tortilla. Our only complaint is that they really need to keep up with wiping down the tables and sweeping up the chip crumbs. About half the tables where dirty when we walked in and the floor needed a good sweep. We will be back.

Heading up 99 and wanted a quick bite to eat, found this gem on our GPS, would not have found it otherwise. Located between a residential area and the freeway in a industrial area. Next to the tortilla factory, there is a store front that sells every kind of burrito you would want. I had the Carne Avododa, which was the best i have ever had and my husband had a spicy sausage burrito, amazing too! Very friendly staff and cant beat the prices. A must have stop

This is the third or fourth Mexican restaurant to inhabit this address in the past 8 years or so. I was so hopeful for this iteration. The enchiladas were okay. The salsa unimpressive. But, the tostada was the worst I've ever had. Unless you'd like a boxed tostada base with beans, meat and a load of shredded lettuce. That was it! I asked if this was the usual way it was served or if they were just out of tomatoes, cheese, salsa or anything else that would give it any taste. The server was most accommodating by providing tomatoes and salsa. It was still a failure. No return visit from us.

We had a hankering for Mexican food. So based on Tripadvisor reviews the 4 of us went to Habanero Hots. Ordered Veggie Fajitas. The house salads were sad: Chopped iceberg lettuce that was more white than green with bland house dressing. Nothing to wrote home about, as one reviewer said. But, the fajitas made up for it. Great selection of vegetables (green beans, carrots, onions, peppers...) cooked just right. Chips and salsa were so-so. The server was pleasant enough. Music was blues-y, out of place and too loud. Bathrooms were not clean; paper towel dispensers, empty. The whole experience felt a little off.
