Find out what Mexican restaurants to try in Guadalajara. The inland city of Guadalajara is bursting with history and culture. Many attractions are in the city's historic center and in the neighboring city of Zapopan. Museums, parks and churches flourish alongside bullfights, rodeos and soccer (futbol). Nearby are the towns of Tequila, where the liquor of the same name is produced, and Tlaquepaque and Tonala, where artisans create an abundance of Mexican handicrafts. Mariachi, which originated in the area, is a common sight and sound in Guadalajara.

Mexican Food
This small, casual restaurant is making excellent food. Much care goes into the sauces and salsas. Their version of tortilla soup is distinctly theirs. The rellenos are beautiful and gooey (and best to be shared since they are rich). Smart, fun and friendly staff. I wish I lived on this block, Iâd be here all of the time. I wish I could eat my way through the concise menu.

Kamilos 333 is well known for its quality and great service since 1975, itâs located in the renowned âBarrio de Sta. Teresitaâ. The ambiance and decoration that consists mainly of vintage field tools evokes the antique rural Jalisco. Their signature dish
Carne en su Jugo is one of my absolute favorite Mexican dishes and Kamilos 333 never disappoints. This place is next to Karnes Garibaldi, which also serves carne en su jugo, but I have always thought Kamilos tastes better than its competition. Their queso fundido con chorizo is also delicious. Love this place!

We are a mexican cuisine restaurant that finds its foundation in ideas, memories, concepts, seasons and products. We have a rotating menu because we believe in creativity as a milestone in our proposal. We explore different culinary styles from our countr
Tikuun has a unique menu, changing seasonally. Seating is outdoor in a leafy balcony or inside in a domed ceiling where the room is over lit yet not efficiently. Spot lighting would have been a better choice. The food was original. We had a tomato salad with goat cheese & peach dressing added at the table. Next course was a vegetable compote which looked like cous cous, but it wasnât, but it is wheat based. Served in a sauce that was flavourful, it is a warm casserole dish. Next, I had a white fish, grilled, which had an avocado purée on the side and some seared vegetables. Nicely seared fish kept it crunchy on the outside but not dry inside. Finally, I had dessert. It was hard to choose from the 5 or so delicious choices, but I went for the fruit layers. Cherry on the bottom, then some compote of blackberry type berry, with fresh blueberries on top. Adorn with strawberries and blackberries and there you have it. Very delicious. I canât remember all the flavourings in each dish, but food was not strongly spicy, it was very delicate, which was their aim. The waiter was very pleasant and described each course as it arrived. He was a bit fast at removing the plates, hardly waiting till the cutlery was down before he swooped them away. There are wine pairings and the wine by the glass changes. What I had was a wonderful red from Spain. Nice wine choices. A pleasant dinner, not over priced. Portions are small, which was fine for women, but big eaters might need to order all courses. Thanks a lot susanaquerida for such a wonderful and specific review. Sincerity above all, with the points you find improvable also being mentioned. Thank you for coming while you were visiting Guadalajara, it was so nice having people like you dining at Tikuun. Please visit again whenever you are in town. Greetings from all the staff.

Known for their huge selection of tequila, and the food is excellent as well. A particular standout is the Chile en Nogada, made with 37 different ingredients. ¡Great for business and family!
We were taken here by business partners who ensured us this was authentic, and very good Mexican food. Food and service was excellent, and not the heavy Mexican food that Americans think of (like refried beans). Atmosphere was interesting, clean and a bit upscale. I would definitely return.

We were referred to this restaurant by our hotel. The food was as you would expect of Mexican food and was just ok. We had about 4 or 5 different servers so it was confusing but we did get all of our orders. Portions were small (think of tapas) ... I ordered tacos and there were 3 very small ones. So ask your server about sizes of the plates; prices were reasonable so you can just order a couple and it would be fine. It was a very large restaurant and a bit dark. Music/show starts at 9:30 so plan your visit accordingly. If only for the food, I would not go back. Thanks for your words and recomendation, we will put special attention in this things!

Very creative food with delicious flavors and perfect execution. Amazing cocktails in a beautiful place. I enjoyed every second of my visit here. It was my birthday and this restaurant was ideal for the celebration. Iâll come back soon. MX$1,500 for a full dinner with drinks (for two).

atmosphere is nice, place is different as construction was not made specific for restaurant, they adapt a place that previously existed and used to be a place where you need to reserve in order to be able to get a table, not sure if it still, took visitors from other countries and they liked it very much

Our house in the heart of Providencia, the most wooded area of the city, it is a green and quiet oasis in the middle of the city bustle. For an impeccable business lunch, great moments as a couple, with the family or friends, at Ofelia Bistro we have a sp
This was our first visit to Ofelia Bistro (March 22, 2019). We were quite impressed with the service. The entire staff was attentive, pleasant and orchestrated their visits to our table so that nothing was missing while not being disruptive of our table conversation. It was not that we lucked out with our wait staff. Every single staff member went above and beyond to make our experience a very special one. The food was just as outstanding. We had several dishes to try a variety of their cuisine. The seared tuna was cooked just right and was fresh. The octopus and escargots were tasty too, as was the "costilla de res". They have a varied wine selection too. I will definitely go back when I return to Guadalajara.Todo estuvo excelente. Gracias a Ofelia Bistro y su equipo por contribuir a una gran noche y una gran cena. Volveremos! We`re grateful to have a kind opinion like yours. This is very important to our crew to know that we can satisfy your taste and offering you a great experience. Thank you very much to share it here. Hope to see you soon at Ofelia Bistro.

PORFIRIO'S is passion, pride and excellence. A restaurant that praises the best of Mexico, transforming its traditional flavors, textures and aromas into the most exquisite dishes of Mexican haute cuisine
As many new and popular restaurants here in Guadalajara, this one is absolutely overrated. Itâs not very defined if it is a restaurant or a bar with very loud remixed dj music, the portion are ridiculously small and the price itâs definitely not worth the taste and quality of the food. Definitely not recommended.Hello Alesssa22Thank you very much for posting a review about your experience, we have sent you a direct message to follow up your comments. Warm regards
