At Taco John's®, we serve traditional Mexican food-with a twist. By fusing bold American flavors with south-of-the-border spice, we've defined our signature menu. From our trademark Potato Olés® and freshly prepared tacos to our infamous breakfast burrito
We live in the area, and usually do take out every couple months. DH is fond of their 6-pack and a pound, and he prefers them soft shell with meat and cheese only. I usually get the meat and potato burrito with fried chicken (I've tried with grilled chicken for a "healthier" option, but the fried does taste better), and snag some of DH's potatoes. Bill was just under $17 without drinks. I also like the Potato Ole's.Staff is usually friendly.I know items are made fresh, but I was surprised by how much everything had cooled in the short trip home in last night's order.
First time eating here, business lunch, excellent food! Nice and clean, friendly staff. The tacos are probably the best I've had, the proportions are big, the prices are affordable and even the churros are even flavored. The rice and beans were great. Lots of options, easy to read menus (digital or hard copy). I will definitely eat here again. Very good!

Tried this new restaurant out and loved it! Few cities are fortunate enough to have an authentic Mexican seafood restaurant, let alone one the size of Grand Island. The location has had prior incarnations as other Mexican restaurants, but none has been as unique as this one. The proprietor and family are from the coast and have brought with them some excellent dishes. The meal started out with a tostada akin to a giant, thick chip topped with an amalgam of diced vegetables and I believe fish. It had a unique, pleasing taste and presentation. My wife and I opted to order the seafood combo plate for two (actually, it could easily feed an entire family as there was plenty left for us to take home). A mixture of fresh octopus, shrimp, and fish with a fantastic chipotle-like sauce that was addictive to say the least. One of the best dishes I have had in any US Mexican restaurant. We are definitely going for another visit and I hope others in the area will patronize such a unique and special place.

Twice in the past week, we have had Qdoba cater lunch meetings. The food has been excellent both times and the delivery person was extremely helpful in getting things set up and properly presented. We have not used Qdoba in the past for these meetings, but certainly will in the future. Very pleased.

We've purchased multiple platters from Tucan and for the Eclipse party, they delivered five soft taco trays. We've had the beef, chicken, shredded pork, and spicy pork. YOU can order a platter that provides about twenty or so small tacos. Each platter is accompanied by a container of onions and cilantro (request it on the side), grilled chile peppers and whole onions and a heaping portion of beans, rice and some wickedly good sauces for the tacos. The tacos are muy bueno but do cause a lot of gas later on (your stomach may be tougher than mine). One platter is enough to easily feed four or more people and it costs only $20. What a steal of a meal and it's way better food than ANY Mexican chain. They may deliver as well.

After a long day of viewing geese, cranes and ducks at the Crane Trust Wildlife Center my hubby, brother and I stopped in for dinner. The place was pretty quiet yet we enjoyed our meal, the entertainer, and our friendly waitress. Best thing we ordered was the fantastic guacamole (being from Texas we know a lot about Guac). Then our enchilada dinners arrived and those were also very good. During our meal a very talented guitarist/singer entertained us. I would highly recommend El Tapatio.

I've been having a hard time looking for authentic Mexican up in Nebraska. I'm originally from the south and most dishes here are more on the mild side (aka bland). However, we noticed a Mexican restaurant adjacent to a grocery store of the same name so we decided to try it out. Walking in, it smells wonderful and they have a pretty good sized menu and prices. They make their own tortillas and tortilla chips so that's also a boon. Food was excellent, l enjoyed my chili relleno. My friends also really enjoyed their dish, I'll definitely come back to try other dishes.Would recommend if you want something more authentic. I'll definitely come back to try something more adventurous like taco lengua.

We ate dinner at almost 9 p.m. on a Saturday and the place was not very busy at that time. There were many dirty tables. It took our waitress some time to come to ask about drinks. There was enough time that we already knew what we were going to order. It was some time before we got our drinks and she spilled the salsa all over the table and one of our party. The dinner was hot and the sides seemed like it was the last of the day, not very fresh and the rice was dry. There was some kind of what seemed to be canned cheese on my chimichanga and it was salty. It wasn't my best Carlos O'Kelly's expence granted it has been years since I have eaten at the chain. Most likely won't go back, at least to this one.

Had the burrito and 2 tacos. Both were very good. Very authentic. Service was quick. Salsa was fine. Space was sparse, but the price was right. Clean and bright. Recommend for a quick, decent meal.
