Florence /ˈflɔːrəns/ is a city in Florence County, South Carolina, United States. It is probably best known for being the intersection of I-95 and I-20, and the eastern terminus of I-20. It is the county seat of Florence County and the primary city within the Florence metropolitan area. The area forms the core of the historical "Pee Dee" region of South Carolina, which includes the eight counties of northeastern South Carolina, along with sections of southeastern North Carolina. As of the 2010 census, the population of Florence was 37,056, and the estimated population in 2015 was 38,228.

Great little "Mom and Pop" Mexican restaurant!From the moment that you enter the door, until you leave, you are well treated.The furnishings are spartan, yet functional. Prices are very reasonable, as two can have a great dinner for under $25.00.All of the food is authentic Mexican, and very well prepared. I had a plate full of beef, rice&beans, and corn that was probably the best Mexican fare that I have tasted outside of Mexico! This is an average Restaurant featuring Mexican type food. The portions are large...price is good, the food is bland. The service is good. The margaritas are the worst, all you taste is MIX. The margarita prices are cheap which is a reflection of the lack of Tequila. Great family place, but not for me!

We went here to celebrate our grandsons birthday. We had a wide choice of dishes from which to choose, including Vegetarian options. The service was quick, the quality was good, and we even got a birthday serenade, complete with sombrero for the birthday boy photo opp! For five persons, the bill was under $70.

I think the best part about Don Jose is the staff. Very friendly and nice. The food was good. The prices were slightly higher than what I expected but nothing outrageous. If you are looking for good Mexican food, this place would be in my top three in Florence.

After a recommendation from our realtor we have Mi Tierra a try. After being seated, our chips and salsa arrived quickly, then our waiter greeted us. I ordered a margarita and was told it was happy hour, the margarita was 2.99, draft beers were half off so my husband got a 32 oz Bud light for 2.50. We both had chimichangas with rice and beans, the food was great, hot and flavorful. We are moving to Florence soon and this will be our go to Mexican place. Service was very fast and friendly.

Went there with a family member. I had the shrimp in garlic butter sauce listed under their specialties. It came with rice and beans and salad with guacamole and sour cream. The shrimp were plentiful but the garlic butter sauce seemed like it was a bit burned or scorched. I have to agree with another reviewer about their salsa.. no flavor at all. Queso dip was just ok. Service was friendly and fine.

We discovered this gem 3 years ago while traveling. We just loved this restaurant! The chips are always fresh and crisp, the salsa excellent, and the guacamole made table side to die for! They have a large selection of delicious typical Mexican dishes, plus this time I ordered the Chipotle steak and it was divine! Looking forward to next yearâs visit!

Judging by the large number of children at 5:30pm their menu must be as reasonable ($4 mostly) as it is for adults. Slightly located off the main roadway (but, very easy to find) this little gem serves all the requisite items you expect to find at a Mexican restaurant-and they do a great job in preparation and presentation. We will return.
