Things to do in Big Spring
Very few ingredients in the stew meat and potato. Mostly tortilla. Slow service through the drive through.
We were a party of 8 with maybe about m25% of the tables taken and nobody at the bar. It took almost 20 minutes before we had sight of our waitress and another 20 minutes to get our drinks, which came one at a time with some of them completely wrong. Apparently the bar tender must have been on a break,Then came the food, or what they considered food. Once again each order came out one at a time with 2 people completely forgotten. With no silverware on the table it took another 10 minutes to get utensils. The food was horrible, tasteless and completely inedible. We did ask to speak to the manager, and she could have cared less, in fact she even had the nerve to blame us for the bad food and service - go figure. Will never return.
I was accompanying my nephew on his morning rounds in the oil field. We stopped at his favorite stop for burritos. They hav a menu of about 10 different burritos, i chose egg and bean. They didn't make the tortillas until they had the order. That in itself indicated the concern for freshness and quality that is on their menu. GREAT BURRITO

Growing up in Big Spring, you had Carlos' and Spanish Inn- both very very good restaurants, still there banging out great Mexican. Now when we visit Papa Chon's is the way to go- a spacious restaurant with fresh food and great service. Owned by the Rodriguez family who held the pinnacle of Mexican food in Big Spring (Casa Blanca), they really knock it out of the park with this place. The food was amazing- I'd definitely go for the Mexican Platter- Cheese Enchiladas, rice and beans, beef taco- everything tasted really fresh and homemade. The tamales are awesome something I had to come back home to rave about. Very authentic. That's a great thing about Big Spring- they know they're food. The Waitstaff are great- very attentive and really hustle for you. They want you to leave happy and full, and they definitely accomplish that.
Another establishment that was highly recommended by individuals in Big Spring. It reminded me of some of the restaurant that I had visit in Old Mexico, and the food was actually close to the same flavor.Staff was friendly and attentive to my need. Definitely will return.

We stopped here while passing through Big Spring on a long road trip. We did not plan on eating here, just realized it was supper time and wanted something that wasnât fast food. Itâs like a normal small town restaurant. One person in our party had the fish tacos which they said were really good. The other 2 of us had hamburger steak. Everything tasted good, service was ok, place was a little messy, but it was later in the evening.

Small authentic Mexican restaurant located in a mall with an outside entrance so plenty of parking. True Mexican cuisine. Not the usual Tex-Mex found elsewhere. Our server, Jenny, was very pleasant and attentive. Our meals were served promptly and piping hot. A wide variety of menu items should please everyone's tastes. Special people in a special place. Well worth a visit.

Over all it was ok. I did not like the style of salsa served with the chips. More like pico. Chile rellleno was good. Cheese enchilada was good. Taco was bad. Beef had no flavor. Guacamole tostada bad. Guacamole also was bland. I wonât go back. Unless I have no other options.

Great place to ease off I20 and enjoy a Mexican lunch or dinner. Doesn't look like much and it's a little crowded but when you get your food you see why it is. The food is delicious and the servers are attentive but not overbearing. Give this place a try you won't regret it.

It is very difficult for me to give a bad review of anything, but I just have to be honest for people interested in going here in the future... I can get past the suboptimal appearance because I have eaten some EXCELLENT food at some not so nice looking restaurants, Keep in mind that this is based on MY taste and MY experience: I was quickly seated upon arrival by very courteous servers. They didn't stay very attentive to my needs once I was seated though. Probably because I was a party of 1, and there were larger parties there at the same time. On to the meal, the chips they served prior to the meal were fine, the salsa they provided for dipping had a scorched flavor - but that is a matter of preference to salsa... So I ordered a cup of queso (cheese) for the chips and honestly I have never tasted queso like that! Honestly it was so bland that I asked for extra cilantro just to give it flavor, then still added the scorched salsa. I gave up , but my meal arrived. I ordered a plate that had a chalupa, enchilada, taco and chili relleno - in order to get a good taste of what they had. Well, it all looked so good, covered in a white sauce and cheese. Well, the white sauce - who knows what it is called, but it was like a thick chili, but bland. And of course there was the bland cheese sauce I have already discussed. The taco was ok, and you may say that it was "Authentic" Mexican food and not everyone likes authentic Mexican food, but I have had Authentic Mexican food and I love it! What I loved most about this plate was the actual shredded cheese that had cooked crispy onto the plate. Is this wrong? Am I being mean? I don't know - not intentionally. Just not my nature. But according to all of the other reviews, maybe I was just there when the good cook was off, but I'm not willing to go back and try it again.
