We went for the bone marrow on the recommendation of a lcoal and were not disappointed. An appetizer in half for full - we took the full for just the two of us: 6 bones with the roasted marrow inside. And they bring you tortillas to put it in - a new style for us and just yummy! The arrechera (hanger steak) was pretty good, if a bit gristly - it was still tender reheated a few days later, which is pretty good for a steak. Enjoyed the presentation of the chicken enchiladas - which is more a cheese enchilada with chopped grilled chicken on the top - and I chose a salsa verde. Beans were good, too. The tres leches cakes is one of the better ones. At 7pm on a Saturday, the wait for a table was 45 minutes, and there's limited seating while you wait. Wish they offered margarita service while waiting in line! They did have beer and water in an ice cooler. We had nice margaritas with our bone marrow, though it didn't seem very strong, even though the waiter said they added a second shot for us. Service was very friendly and helpful. Parking was full when we arrived, except for one place on the street; looks like there might have been a dirt lot next door.

The tamales here are very good because they have a generous amount of filling so that you aren't eating just masa. The tamales are also moist so you can re-heat them without them drying out. We hadn't tried the chicharrones until now and they are really good as well. They were meaty and crispy perfect for snacking. They sell a variety of other food items which makes it a good stop for families with different tastes.

They just get it right: eye-popping flavors, great service, and passionate cooking! Weâve been here for breakfast and dinner. Both experiences were impressive.

I come to El Paso twice a year because it's my wife's hometown. We always go to Chicos Tacos... however we just found this place. Our new favorite. We came with a party of 6 and we all loved our food: ceviche, elote, ice creams and quesadillas.Amazing!

Stopped in after a few years and the food is out of this world. As it's name implies, it is a little diner, but it is HUGE on Mexican taste and flavor. Had tacos, but the burritos are also spectacular as well as the enchiladas. A little hard to finfd, but well worth the trip.

While traveling through this area my wife expressed her desire to enjoy some good Mexican food. Checking various on-line reviews, I noted that Ernesto's Restaurant had been highly-rated by many who had dined there, so we decided to join them for lunch. This restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, but not after 4:00 pm. Most complete meals are $10 or less.On our arrival we were warmly greeted, promptly seated and placed our beverage orders while reviewing the menu. My wife ordered the enchilada lunch and I ordered the meat enchilada lunch. Our meals included rice, refried beans, lettuce and tomato and of course the enchiladas. Two levels of spiciness are offered, "green" which we found to be nearly five alarm for us self-confessed "Gringos" and "red" which is milder. Our portions were ample. I was particularly impressed with the refried beans which were outstanding. The rest really woke up our palates and was delicious, but we were grateful for our generous glasses of iced tea which helped us tame the spiciness. For us, Ernesto's provided us with an excellent dining experience in a friendly environment for a modest price. We could not have asked for more.

First visit to this restaurant after being recommended by locals. Great menu selection and reasonably priced. Food was good but not great. Large portions for big appetites is a plus. Salsa was very good. Sour cream and guacamole were very runny and tasted watered down.
