Food first class. This is the place you have heard about but never quite had that experience of, a family run restaurant where some one truly loves their food and makes you feel special. Someone who is prepared to take the time to talk to you about their wonderful food creations. You won't be disappointed.

This restaurant had fantastic views and location (just up the hill from the Basilica di San Francesco). The staff was friendly, spoke english, and was helpful to first timers to Italy that needed help with menu items. Food was excellent and I would highly recommend to any one. Great classic Tuscan fare including a delicious Cinghiale stew!

We stayed at the Castello and dined here for the 3 nights we were there. The menu is small, yet there are options for pasta, meat and fish and a daily special. They focus on local and the quality of the food is excellent, we loved their pasta ragout. Wine selection is very and reasonably priced. We booked lunch for nine of us; online booking was easy and very efficient. Finding the Relais wasn't so easy (ignore Google maps and follow the brown road signs to the Relais instead) but once discovered, the situation is pleasant with some good views, despite being near Perugia Airport. We had a drink overlooking a pretty swimming pool and garden and ate inside where the waiter was attentive and helpful. Food was a little slow in coming but good and beautifully served. It was quite expensive - the bill came as a total without any breakdown of different courses, wine etc. That should be changed.

Similar priced menu options are available in Perugia so a drive out to this Trattoria could be something to think twice about. Don't be mistaken by other reviews and expect more then 1 free course. The tasting menu at â¬30 p/person includes the mixed cheese and cold meats platter and offers 3 main course options. The complimentary potato soup was good and the house wine was good as well, as we had read on Tripadvisor. A main course or 'secondi' comes with cooked vegetables and everything arrives on one plate. Portions are generous. Amazing! 3 types of wine (from Coldibetto) served with a huge range of excellent local food in 3 hours. The location is stunning, we sat in the garden which was perfect and meant the children could play safely. There was something for everyone. This is a great way to experience Umbrian cuisine and hospitality at its best. Would highly recommend. I had a very wonderful and delicious lunch here. Very much recommended! In such a touristy town itâs easy to find sub-par food, but thankfully this restaurant is an exception. (Assisi probably has the worst food Iâve ever had in Italy, so beware of which restaurants you choose!) the service was friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful homemade stuffed pasta and nice glass of red wine. Simple but delicious.
