We have just been for dinner at Cantine Macinate, after the suggestion of the young lady who runs their shop in the centre of Specchia. Great ambiance, cool place, wonderful wines, but the smallest portions ever. Seriously, I have ordered paccheri (a kind of short pasta) with aubergines and swordfish and there were literally just 5 paccheri and the smallest hint of aubergine. that's something I can accept from an Italian resto abroad but not in Italy and especially not in the South. Very deceived. Saluti

It all started March 3, 1970 when, in the historic center of Lucugnano, was opened Trattoria Iolanda, 3 Km from Tricase. A history tavern in Salento, managed by the family Giaccari that offers home cooking, typical of Puglia and Salento meat with homemade
Very authentic local cuisine, but also very limited menu. no major complaints but totally average in my opinion. Some portions were very small and one pasta dish was served with barely any sauce -some parts were even white- pretty skimpy! The orrechiette with rape were very good.-a long wait for service. we didn't mind, but could be an issue.prices about 20 euros for a tiny appetizer, main course and beverage.*The fried appetizer assortment was good and a better size than the marinated vegetable appetizer.

We did a day out from Lecce and Specchia was one of the places we visited. After looking around the place, we decided to have our dinner at La Bettola as this was one of the few eateries that was opened (most of the shops and eating places were closed). We were the only ones at La Bettola. The place was cosy and the staff was prompt. We ordered the Cicorie e Fave (â¬5), Orecchiette e Cavatelli - Melanzane, Zucchine e Pomodoro (â¬8), Pezzetti in Umido (â¬7,50) and Vino della casa (Rosso lt 1/4) (â¬1,50). The food was good and the portions pretty big, and the prices very reasonable.

"Il Castello di Momo" is a tipical restaurant in the heart of Salento, an amazing experience to enjoy. Our restaurant is located in Capece family's baronial court (1400) where you can breathe the magic atmosphere of history. Our food is a mix of genuine a
Food was perfect, The first restaurant in Italy where the service is actually good. The main waiters spoke English and translated the menu to English which was very nice. The servers were kind. Overall I would say in terms of service this is one of the best places in Salento. The food, especially antipasto for 2 was amazing.

Welcome to the site of the house From eating Coppuledda. Lovely place in the centre of historical Specchia. He who seeks a Salentine typical Local specialties with the local in Specchia Coppuledda From the right place to enjoy typical dishes, wise up and
This authentic trattoria is located in the historic center of Specchia. The unique place is the beautifully renovated warehouse of an old oil mill. It has an ample covered terrace and eating area with a great view on the valley below. Parking space nearby. The restaurant offers a variety of delicious and freshly cooked home food, all at its best.Traditional Salentine cuisine, from beans and chicory to ciciri and tria (pasta and chickpeas), and sagne torte (pasta). Much of the cuisine is based on peasant food, as a result it's simple but outstanding, made with basic, common ingredients. We had Antipasto casa terra, Sagne torte, Quadroni di cernia fume, all was delicious.Good house wines.Excellent service, relaxed atmosphere.Reasonable prices, good value.

Really nice and unexpected discovery in Specchia. The restaurant has a beautiful terrace in a charming garden, welcome drinks were on the house and the service super friendly and multilingual (German, English, Italian). The large choice of antipasti was very tasty - exactly what we needed. We would definitely go there again :). Für unsere deutschen Landesgenossen: Dieses Restaurant ist absolut zu empfehlen. Die nette Besitzerin hat viele Jahre in Deutschland gelebt !!! :)

During our holidays we had dinner here twice, because we loved it so much .The Risorante La Ficarigna is located on a side street just outside of the historic center of Specchia, with parking space by the side of the road. The restaurant is large, the decor is kitsch. There is outside seating but we preferred to sit inside as there were some mosquitoes. They serve South Italian food at its best. All dishes cooked in the most special and uncomplicated way you can possibly imagine, simple but outstanding. It was perfection based on local produce cooked with passion and skill. We didn't have the pasta flambe but saw how they prepared it next table. We had sauteed cozze, the tomino, orecchiette, pasta Pescatora and the Fanatasia. My favourite was the Salentina, delicious maccheroni with yellow tomato sauce and Burrata... heavenly! Service was very friendly and attentive.Highly recommended!

This family run place is above expectations in all aspects. The details are authentic and talking quality, let it be about the outstanding food made by chef Mauro, the attentive service or the decoration dressed by the owner's wife. Worth to visit if you are in Puglia!

He said « in Italy, you order all the plates at the same time »...2 hours 1/2 for 2 plates.1/2 hour for the bill.Food good but not exceptionnal
