5 km North of Menton - reachable by Grand Cornice from Nice or from Menton.
Over many years, we have been regular visitors to this wonderful restaurant. We return because of the wonderful welcome we receive, the exceptionally good service we are offered and the magnificent overall experience. Set in the spectacular village of Gorbio, the restaurant provides unique and wonderful dining. Everything on the menu is locally sourced, being either grown, shot, fished or foraged. As a result, every course and every dish on the menu is both fresh and delicious. Beautiful presentation with precise and fine attention to detail. A really delightful dining experience. Good choice of wines. Attentive, friendly and professional service. Faultless!! A huge thankyou once again to everyone who works so hard and so successfully to ensure Restaurant Beau sejour continues to be the very special place it is. A bientot.

We visited St Agnes and were looking for a place to have lunch. We came across Le Righi and has an unforgettable lunch overlooking Menton and the surrounding area. It is on an outcrop of rock and we had a snack lunch whilst taking in the view in the lovely autumn sunshine. The waitress was friendly and the food very good. The home made lemon tart was delicious. It gets busy so get there early if you want a table with the best view.

Stayed for one night at the hotel - the room was small, but very comfortable. The view from the balcony was stunning.Dinner in the hotel restaurant was delightful. I'd recommend the wild boar stew.Do make time to explore this delightful and historic mountain village, including the medieval gardens and fort.

We stayed 2 nights at L'Auberge Provencale in room 5, a really lovely room over looking the terrace and the town with superb views. (I believe this to be one of the newly refurbished room and not all rooms are the same.) It was very warm when we visited and the air conditioning wasnt very effective. But it did help to take off the plastic mattress cover. We ate both nights in the restaurant and it was very good. Sospel is a pretty little quiet town and about 5 mins walk down hill, slightly longer to return via the very old cobbled steps. At the time of our visit the hotel was a 2 star but I would definitely grade our room well above this.

I ate here 2 nights because my first dinner was so good: shaved artichoke salad with parmesan and cod with grilled asparagus, both excellently flavored. The second night was just as tasty: asparagus with thyme followed by grilled scallops. Lovely!

Cosy little restaurant - very inviting. Plenty to choose from on menu everyone at the table happy with their meals. Prices were ok and service was fast. Difficult to order for the children (healthier options) but I find this is many places. Would have been perfect score if children's meal options were a little better.

We travelled by train from Nice to Sospel (there is no bus, except from Menton). The train crawled along and stopped for over 20 mins at l'Escarene. We arrived at Sospel at 14.00 hrs instead of 13.30. This restaurant had finished serving lunches, but did offer us a tuna quiche meal. Service was prompt. The quiche was served with a green salad, with an excellent balsamic vinegar dressing. Drinks were very reasonably priced, and we were grateful to get lunch at the late hour. The quiche was very good. Return trains were over 45 mins late, and the train from Nice to Golfe Juan was over 30 mins late. Our advice after 50 years of travelling to the Nice region is to avoid train travel....it is no longer reliable and is incredibly expensive.

We stopped at 2G while exploring Sospel, and had a good, generous, well-made lunch. The salade nicoise was tasty and the fish soup delicious. Service was fast, polite and efficient. Perhaps not the ultimate gastronomic experience, but just what we needed.

The best place to discover fresh homemade pasta with about 40 different sort of sauces. Nice restroom, front of the seaside, multilingual staff. You should taste : tagliolini with lobster, tagliatelle with shrimps and mushrooms, penne with bitter cocoa wi
Never, ever, ever had anything less than excellent here. Really very delicious food, generously sized patios which you can take home in a doggy bag, friendly service. It's always busy and has several sittings per mealtime. I just wish it was closer to us.
