Created in the Masegra Castle Cave, it's in a fantastic place. The interiors are in stones , rennovated in 1999.Unfortunately the food are of average quality, local dishes but not up to the mark.No sea food available, just meat and pizza(good pizza).Nothing special.Low attitude al the cleaning.I give positive vote and you can go one time just to see the place. Before or after the meals you can visit the Masegra Castle museum , collocates near the restaurant( take information about the opening time becouse it's almost close every day)

We ate in a huge room without windows (the main restaurant was occupied with a wedding). The place was unbelievable noisy. The primo piatto arrived 5 minutes after we ordered, the main course before we finished the primo piatto. After 30 minutes dinner was finished. The food though was good. Go there if you want a quick dinner but for a relaxing evening.

We don't speak Italian yet the service was genuinely inviting. The extra appetizer were well appreciated. We enjoyed the background jazz music, the family ownership and the food. We enjoyed watching as well the locals coming in : two families with young kids, a group of seven friends, two couples, people converging at the bar, one couple etc. The experience gave us an insight in the local evening lifestyle. we would return and we certainly recommend

The atmosphere of this restaurant is extraordinary and magical. The gentle roar of a waterfall ( visible by a large window ) accompanies the excellent and well presented dishes. The food is really good and the staff is very professional and kind. The dining rooms are set in an old building thanks to a superfine restoration that mixes the ancient stone building tradition and the modern use of steel and glass. Excellent quality - price ratio. Highly recommended!

We stopped in for lunch during the week. We were able to sit down at the last available table. All the other tables were occupied by local business people out to lunch. Even though the waitresses didnât really speak any English, we were able to communicate with the help of google translate. They had a fixed menu for lunch where you can mix and match first and second courses plus dessert and coffee. It was a nice, relaxing lunch with no toursists in sight.

What a find! Recommended by Isabella at Arpepe, our group of five were delighted by this perfect restaurant for lunch, beneath the castle ruins and shading us from the hot midday sun under the grapevines. The antipasti dishes were delectable with mushroom salad and figs, salumi of bresaola including horse and venison. All the flavours were so subtle. The pastas and risottos were plentiful and expertly cooked. I especially liked the penne primavera with pesto, potatoes and peas. Sharing nougat semifreddo and one with bitter mountain herbs completed this feast accompanied by superb local wines.

Il Poggio, run by the Gianola family for over 30 years, is set in the heart of Valtellina, 5 km from Sondrio. Its warm and cozy halls are decorated in antique style, plunging you into a pleasant atmosphere . The restaurant can be booked for small banquets
The food was INCREDIBLE as was the view. We expected lovely Italian food but we got innovative, modern takes on classic dishes. We enjoyed their take on sciat, cichoi (pardon the spelling) which featured the abundance of local buckwheat. The local Valtellina wine was a perfect accompaniment. Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

We were three friends on vacation looking for something good and not too expensive for dinner. Food was excellent, and the service was even better!
