Sifnos (Greek: Σίφνος; the spelling Siphnos is obsolete in English but still by convention often used to refer to the island in ancient times) is an island municipality in the Cyclades island group in Greece. The main town, near the center, known as Apollonia (pop. 869), is home of the island's folklore museum and library. The town's name is thought to come from an ancient temple of Apollo on the site of the church of Panayia Yeraniofora. The second-largest town is Artemonas (800), thought to be named after an ancient temple of Apollo's sister-goddess Artemis, located at the site of the church of Panayia Kokhi. The village of Kastro (118), was the capital of the island during ancient times until 1836. It is built on top of a high cliff on the island's east shore and today has extensive medieval remains and is the location of the island's archeological museum. The port settlement, on the west coast of the island is known as Kamares (245).

Letâs start talking about the place. Its in a big garden very quite and good atmosphere. The stuff is so friendly, smart and the organization is out of this world. The foods are a mix of traditional Greek food combined with other ingredients that change the traditional food to something new.Its a little bit expensive but you are not going to regret spending your money here

Okyalos restaurant is located in Sifnos from 2002 offering quality food in reasonable prices. We operate in the best professional way we can in all aspects of the business.A client that comes and eats here will surely visit us again.
My husband and I arrived in Sifnos today and after the boat ride and checking into our accommodations. Our timing was off since it was about 3:30 and most places were closed. We were hot, tired and hungry and came upon this place and how lucky were we. I had the grill chicken with vegetables and my husband had the meatballs with potatoes. We both loved our dishes and the presentation was so lovely. Our plates were clean when we finished since we enjoyed our meals so much. The waiter then brought us out a delicious chocolate mouse dessert on the house that was delicious. What a nice thing to do. All around an excellent meal, dessert and service and we will be back for sure.

Limanaki is a small traditional taverna in Faros, a little village on the island of Sifnos. The name means âlittle harborâ and they serve fresh fish, a wide variety actually, as they fish everything with their own boat. Itâs easy to find and you can enjoy lunch or dinner after a long day at the picturesque beach Glyfo, on the right side of the settlement. We went there specifically for lobster spaghetti which is their signature dish. They had a fresh catch and my wife picked a rather big lobster out of a dozen live ones the owner showed her. That made an enormous plate for two which we devoured! The waiter was rather surprised we finished it because as he told us, not many people can manage it. After they boil the lobster they use the water to cook the spaghetti and make the tomato sauce. The lobster was insane, huge, tender, seasoned with salt and pepper and perfectly cooked! The pasta was good too, in a beautiful thick red sauce. Limanaki is a family restaurant, they cook with their heart and serve everything with a smile. For a delicious salad, the lobster and our drinks we paid 105 Euros, which might sound expensive but not quite for fresh lobster. When visiting Sifnos booking there is a must, location is great, the view is fabulous and the food is superb

We were here on a cold and rainy evening so the deck was closed and it was quiet.....until the massive tour group showed up! It has a fairly sterile feel inside and the location is a bit further away but the views would be great on a clear day. The food was good but it doesnât quite reach being excellent. Worth a try though.

I have three words for you: fresh, handmade pasta! Passione Italiana is a small Italian cuisine restaurant at the quaint port of Kamares in Sifnos. Pretty, with elegantly simple decoration providing a nice view, it serves traditional Italian cuisine with a modern touch. But most importantly, everything is fresh and handmade, pizza, pasta and their deserts! We really wanted to try everything from the menu as all looked delicious. The girls had pasta, my wife the amatriciana with guanciale (cured pork) and pecorino cheese and my daughter porzini filled pasta with truffle cream sauce and I had the white pizza with mortadella, mozzarella and pistachio pesto! Iâm not an amatriciana fan but that was absolutely delicious and the handmade porzini was amazing, we could actually taste the fresh pasta! The truffle sauce was very inspiring and full of flavor! The pizza was great too, the crust was thin with a perfect texture between soft and firm, fully covered in mozzarella and mortadella as they certainly donât skimp on materials and the pistachio pesto exquisite! That was something Iâve never tried before and I totally enjoyed! For dessert we had tiramisu and chocolate mousse with ice cream. The tiramisu was so rich and creamy with good balance of sweetness and coffee beautifully presented and served in a jar and the chocolate mousse was decadent! Even if youâre not into chocolate you will love it!Iâve been to Italy and Iâm telling you, that place was like being somewhere in Tuscany, authentic, traditional, modern and retro at the same time. The Chef was really nice coming out of the galley and engaging with the guests. Passione Italiana was unquestionably one of our top three eateries in Sifnos. Mark my words and pay a visit if you ever be in that charming small island of Cyclades!

We came here because reviews were wow. Not. Interesting menu but very bland execution. Chickpeas salad was one of the more boring I ever had, moreso in sifnos. Octopus was itself great but the cauliflower lime garlic sauce was absolutely tasteless. Cocktail was awesome. Place is nice. Shame food was just really badly executed Greetings from Sifnos, Greece! We promise to take into consideration your comments regarding our chickpeas salad and cauliflower sauce in order to ace our recipes but to be honest, we have been many times complimented in the past for these exact dishes. As you may imagine, not all dishes/recipes fit all tastes. We will be glad to have you as our guest in the future so we may try to impress you.

Maiòlica is the outcome of the exploration of the diversity and richness of the Mediterranean terroir. We have created an experience through which we celebrate the knowledge of small artisan producers, as well as the science of the land, food and hospital
I decided to go to Maiolica after reading about it here. It's a nice place with a really good service. I had lentil salad (recommended on Trip Advisor) which was tasty and enough for my whole meal. Nicely served on the colorful plate. After having the salad I decided to indulge myself with a little treat. I wanted to try something local so I chose pistachio cake with sheep yoghurt ice cream and pistachio milk. Sounded great and it also looked good on a plate, very colorful and neat. However, after tasting it, I was a bit disappointed as I got the impression that the cake was like a warm defrosted muffin with ice cream and pistachio milk. I missed the velvety taste of a cake and its fluffiness. Not worth its price (8 euro). To compensate the disappointment I really enjoyed the view from the restaurant's terrace.

In a quiet area of Sifnos â in Kato Petali â you will find "To Kelari", a tavern that has been serving traditional Greek and local Sifnian cuisine since 1988, in a warm and family environment. This family-run tavern is known for serving fresh meat for the
Nice and quiet place just 3 min drive outside Apollonia. We tasted wonderful eggplant and chickpeas as starters and gourmet lamb mastelo as main course.Absolutely recommended for an authentic greek culinary experience.

We see the world through taste and we are hungry for better food guality. We are enthusiastic over special delicacies, over luxurious dishes but also over everyday recipes. Our desire and love for food made us make the decision to create our own restaurant
We were here on a cooler evening so had to fit inside their upstairs seating area. They have a large outdoor area for warm evenings and that would be very nice as it is a courtyard type of setting. The food has both traditional and fusion choices and everything is visually stunning and backed up with great flavours. Service was attentive and prices were reasonable. Definitely try it out,
