The Artists Restaurant. A place where art and cuisine come together! Born in 1914 to accommodate artists of the nearby Theatre steps. Today offers traditional Tuscan recipes, with a modern revisited of the our Chef who always adds a special flavor twist!
We ate at this restaurant last night because the couple we were with had had a good pasta lunch there. By 9:30 were still the only customers. In the vegetarian option, everything was fried or in a creamy sauce. Although one of the dishes contained cherry tomatoes (just a few), when I asked for some pasta with tomatoes, I was told there were none in the kitchen (so when did they prepare the food?). I ended up eating next to nothing. I do eat meat but couldn't find anything that sounded the least bit healthy or fresh with meat either. The only fish was salt cod. There were no salads or vegetable sides on the menu. The server did not try to assist me at all to find something I could eat. The other three people I was with had the vegetarian menu, and came out feeling like they'd eaten too much fried food..I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to eat healthy food.

Thanks to Trip Advisor, we searched nearby restaurants and found this one rated Number One in the area. We had spent the day touring Florence before returning to our hotel in San Piero a Sierve. Though we did have a car and a GPS, had no idea it would be so far out of the way and a 30 minute travel, 8.3 miles along narrow and twisting country roads in the dark. Upon arrival there were only four other tables occupied and wondered whether we should have stayed closer to town?Along with a very good bottle of Tuscan chianti, we had freshly made bread and an antipasti of cheeses, prosciutto, salame, finocchiana to begin our meal. After this, our waiter brought us three more house specialty appetizers consisting of tomatoes, polenta, and seasonal mushrooms. Our main dish for three was the Tuscan specialty of Bistecca Fiorentina which was huge, weighing in at a it tad more than 2 kilos. Grilled to medium rare, the steak was served with fresh roasted potatoes. Before leaving, I had the opportunity to meet and compliment the manager and cook for such a special and sumptuous meal. I cannot say enough about our waiter who did well to suggest most of our dishes and pace them in a timely manner. We hope to return in the future and perhaps come in daylight when the drive won't be so stressful.Locanda delle Isole deserves its number one rating!May 2, 2015

Turned up unexpectedly at this place for a quick lunch with business colleagues, upon recommendation of a local who was with us.We had some local specialties as an antipasto, and a serving of carbonara e tartufo pasta, coupled with a red wine. All was really very, very good. Excellent casual place for eating at a small price tag and careful service.

A nice restaurant with a lovely interior. We had really nice food and wine and because everything was so tasty also desert. Unfortunately the menu was a bit confusing and we weren't 100 % sure what was on the menu on that day. Otherwise it would've been an "excellent".

Traditional tuscan restaurant, specialized in tortelli mugellani (with potatoes) handmade every day. Simple and genuine cuisine based on first quality ingredients.Simple menu card with few but very nice dishes: tuscan starters, fresh tortelli and ravioli
This was an incredible meal with amazing service. The ravioli was incredible, we had it with duck, wild boar and oil/cheese. All were incredible. Also the tagliatelle with wild boar. 4 different pizzas, all incredible. The only complaint is they are only open for dinner Thursday-Sunday so we can only go once!! They are open for breakfast and lunch and the bar is open until 8pm the other nights. Highly recommend.

Four of us looking for a meal at 8.30 pm on a Sunday came across this restaurant after finding almost everything closed in the town. It was a very nice surprise, food was varied, prices were extremely moderate and the service was efficient and pleasant. Each of us had entree and Main of a variety and were all impressed with the quality of our food. We had beer, wine and soft drinks and they too were cheap. We were the last to leave and the staff were really nice to us despite our lack of Italian. They also provided an English language menu. All in all a positive experience and I'm happy to recommend Bonaugo Ristorante Pizzeria.

Locanda San Barnaba is completely renewed in Tuscan and shabby-chic style. Comfortable and the Florentine cusine is simple and respectful of tradition. We use local products only.
Excellent meal here with good wine recommendations. Family run and very attentive to the people dining. It's one of the top rated restaurants in the area for a reason. Don't miss it!

A suggestion for a different night, in the sign of good food, in which the traditional Tuscan blends with the innovative, in an elegant and historic. The limonaia, located in an environment of considerable architectural and environmental value, is located
Tables are well spaced in amongst the trees which have pretty lights hanging from the branches. Tables around the pool too. Large car park and well sign posted. The service was friendly and efficient and the courses well spaced. Crisp white tablecloths and the food was beautifully cooked and plentiful with plenty of interesting choices on the menu. The price at the top end for the area but well worth it! Definitely one to return to. Thanks for coming in our restaurant and trying our dishes. At the next time
