Nice restaurant, good selection, reasonably priced and the food is fresh. We were just having a small bite for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Clean with good bathrooms. Portions were generous. The table next to us had ordered a salad which could have fed two people and a beef skewer that was massive, a meat eater would love it. Hubby had octopus in tomato sauce that was very good. A nice bonus was the chef came out and spoke to the patrons asking how their meal was. Overall, I would recommend.

Stopped here as part of the North Tour. We had the set meal, vegetable soup, espada fish and passionfruit dessert. It was ok but nothing that special. â¬15 with wine. The veg were very watery and the water soaked into the fish batter.

Located in the Vila Bela Hotel. Good fresh seafood, generous portions, and attentive service. I selected the fish soup with a tuna salad (large portion size) and my wife had grilled sardines. Inside and outside tables are available. Maitre de was a jovial person and fun to talk with.

We had lunch here during a Sunday taxi tour. Unfortunately it was too windy to eat outside where there were attractive views but the inside was attractive. There was a choice of Portuguese wines and the food was delicious with generous portions. On the recommendation of our driver my wife had the lamb which is a daily speciality (ask if you donât see it on the menu). I had a delicious fried espada. The service was efficient and friendlyâ

We were recommended this unassuming little place by a local and it is fantastic.Humble, uncomplicated, superb staff, homely, lovely attention to detail. We came back after the first meal was so good and although a much bigger group and ordering different meals, it was excellent again. You won't be disappointed!

Had lunch on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The interior was comfortable and cozy with a bar on one side. The food is typical cuisine from Madeira (seafood, meat) and the portions are generous and decently priced. The owner Marcel was our waiter and was extremely attentive and helpful.Service was fairly quick, washrooms were clean and there is a nice patio that would be great if the weather is good.Solid choice in Santana!Thank you very much welcome again marcels bistro

My parents and I came across this beautiful restaurant while driving to the north of Madeira. The estate was really majestic, and with a great view across the valley. We only wanted a very light lunch, and opted for the soup and bolo do caco (Madeiran garlic bread). The bread and our drinks arrived promptly, but we waited on our soups for nearly 25 minutes. The soups were served in a large bowl, and were definitely good value for money considering their size. However, the taste and quality varied a lot. The traditional soup honestly tasted of nothing else than water and thymes. It was the most watery experience weâve ever had. The potato and pea (?) soup was OK, but with little flavor. The fish soup had plenty of fish and shell fish, and a lot of flavor. So; a mixed bag of soups... As we didnât have any mains, Iâm not going to judge the entire restaurant based on its starters. But would expect faster service, and soups with flavor in this kind of establishment...

My wife and myself are currently holidaying in Madeira and have just returned from an excellent East Island Tour arranged by Blandy Travel. As part of the Tour we - together with our 4 fellow travellers - had lunch in Santana at Quinta do Furao Restaurant. This caters for various tour groups and, fortunately, we were of the early arrvals. As such, we were allocated a nice table and - after being served drinks (choice of either juices, water or wine) we were soon enjoying a homemade Pea Soup. This was followed by Grilled Swordfish served with a good selection of vegetables and some sweet potato. Desert was a delicious Creme Caramel washed down by coffee. All in all, a delicious lunch at a property that has stunning coast/sea views as well as attractive gardens and flanked by vineyards. Difficult to bear and well worth a visit for anyone passing by!Dear Mr. Steve,Thank you for taking the time to post your review and for your positive remarks. On behalf of our hotel's team I would like to thank you for choosing Quinta do Furão and hope to welcome you once again in the near future.Kind regards,Mara CalaçaGuest Relations
