Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in San Gimignano. San Gimignano, known as the "city of beautiful towers," had 72 towers in its heyday. Now 14 remain, and, rising above Tuscany's Elsa Valley, they make the town look like a medieval dreamscape. Take in the fresco-covered Collegiate Church, the Civic Museum and the views from atop 177-foot Torre Grossa. Daytrippers from Florence tend to fill up the streets during the day, so for a more up-close-and-personal look at the town, spend the night.

The staff at this lovely hotel are very professional but friendly. The restaurant was very popular with locals as well as the guests staying here: the service was excellent and the food spot on. Our room was not huge but the shared terrace with the terrific view of the Tuscan countryside was. We loved our stay here and it rated as one of the best of the eight hotels we stayed in on this holiday.

We sought out this restaurant, based on reviews, for our last night in Tuscany. We are so glad we did! The service was friendly, the food very nice and wine reasonably priced. Steak is their specialty and was great! We had the mixed platter, spaghetti pomodoro, fillet steak and tiramisu between 5.... everything was devoured! Grazie per la sue recensione, lieti di aver soddisfatto le sue aspettative ci auguriamo di rivedervi presto.

The Zafferano restaurant in San Gimignano is part of the agriturismo Casanova di Pescille: a typical Tuscan family cottage, smoothly run today by its fifth generation, and offering bucolic views. The young professional chef Saverio Fanciullini runs the ki
We had a very nice evening at this restaurant. Every dish is beautiful presented and dilicious. Primi we ordered Pici and Lasagna. Secondi the duck and deer. Both very nice. The duck was outstanding! As a dessert we both ordered the Semifredo; the salted caramel was amazing.. Prices are a high, but worth it. (if you eat 3 courses you really don't need to order sidedishes by the maincourse, it will be to much) The staff is very very friendly and helpfull. They gave us good advices about the wineparing. For a nice, longer and more chique diner: def. recommend!

We returned here for dinner after several years of dining here with family, and we loved it. Absolutely such a delight and experience, we watched the sunset as we dined around 7:30pm, along the Tuscan countryside, the view was beautiful, and they even had Andrea Bocelli playing in the background. Truly a scene out of a movie. The prices are a bit expensive, but the experience is truly excellent, the service is phenomenal. They were extremely attentive and polite. The food was wonderful, the Tuscan specialty appetizer was great. The risotto with saffron was a bit salty, but still tasty. The tagliatelle with truffle was divine, and the bistecca fiorentina was great! great to share between 2 people. The dessert was also delicious, and they gave us a gift of bottle of wine which was so nice. We love this restaurant and can't wait to return. Thank you for an incredible evening!

It's a very nice restaurant-butchery in the center of San Gimignano. Here, you can taste platters with cold cuts and cheeses and carpaccio, tartare and others meat cruditès, directly from our butchery. You can taste also delicious wine and drinks.
We were lucky to find this butcher shop/restaurant. We had cold cuts tapas (prosciutto, salami and cheese), italian bread, 1 Moretti beer and an Aperol Spritz and we paid 26 euros. Although delicious, I think it was a bit expensive (13 euros per person). Maybe we paid for the location and not for the quantity of the food. Will I visit again? Maybe...

What a great place! Incredible choice of wines & superb local craft beers. Whilst not a restaurant as such, food is available and the plate of local meats & cheeses is enormous! Hosts very friendly and excellent music too; what's not to like!!

We had the entire restaurant for ourselves - what a treat. Hotel has closed for the winter and it was a Wednesday which explains our fortune. Let me start with best part; the team of servers, sommelier and cooks. They were fantastic, friendly, warm, professional, educational and detail oriented. They were there as needed but not noticed at the same time. The tasting menu with wine pairing was a magnificent treat. Allowing yourself to be guided by true artist down a flavor experience can be risky but when done superbly as it was last night, it makes for an extraordinary memory. Extra special when shared with your lovely spouse. On our next trip to San Gimignano we will stay at the hotel to receive the total immersion. Thank you CubansamHouston_TX for writing such a marvellously glowing review of AL 43. We were pleased to have served you and equally happy to have you enjoy your meal. We will look forward to your return and possible stay in our Locanda dell' Artista. Warmest wishes,Baker Bloodworth

At our restaurant we offer a fix menu for both lunch and dinner. The meals are served in long tables with the other guests as family style. We offer Wine tasting with tour of the farm. For wine tasting, lunch and dinner reservation is needed.
Spectacular view of Tuscany. We had a great time learning how to make pasta. Sarah was an awesome host, everyone was helpful during the pasta-making class. The food was delicious. The ingredients all came from the farm, including the olive oil, wines, and meats. We are glad that Italy decided to invest in Agriturismo

The restaurant itself is a little odd but we chose to sit outside around the back of the restaurant. The garden is beautiful with flowers and a canopy and we have a beautiful view of the setting sun. The staff were all very pleasant. Unfortunateky the food was rather odd. Odd combinations of pastries and sauces with overly elaborate garnishes. I think it was mostly reheated and it lacked much flavour. I asked for gluten free options (using language cards to make sure I was totally understood) and was recommended the asparagus gratin. This turned out to be asparagus topped with melted cheese. Not a very nice meal but lovely place to go and sit with drinks.
