For many years we had our family get togethers on August 15 in our own home on Lake Trasimeno, avoiding restaurants like the plague. Since it's a national holiday in the middle of the summer EVERYONE is on vacation, all tourist facilities are full to the gills and service is slow and patience wearing thin on all counts. Combine this with the August heat and it's an explosive situation. This year with our family reduced to 3 members my daughter and grandson and I decided to risk it and not stay home. She came upon a written menu offered by Montalcino,we were tempted and telephoned for a reservation, omitting only the "antipasti"as the entire menu was more than enough. The tables outside under the shade trees were welcoming, the chairs comfortable and the delicious courses just kept coming and coming. The waiters repassed if anyone wanted second helpings of any particular dish. Wine and bottled mineral water were brought cold as needed. Enough to say that we refused chilled watermelon after the plate of assorted fruit and desserts because there simply wasn't room for it although it's one of our favorites. All this complete with smiles and courtesy for â¬30 each in one of the busiest days of the year. A Ferragosto to remember!

Carlo's Trattoria Del Pescatore is set back one block off the main shorefront at Passignano frequented by locals. We have bee patronising the restaurant for years, usually for Sunday lunch at one of the tables under the pergola in the street. The welcome is friendly and reservations are essential. Located off Lag Trasimeno it's hardly surprising the menu is seafood, beautifully cooked in a friendly authentic milieu. After ordering a nice Grechetto, on different occasions our party of 4 shared a platter of seafood antipasti, which included perch, carp, tench, and pile, and a side order of lightly fried white bait. For prima, two of us then shared small dish of home made pasta with tench sauce and then all of us followed with the restaurant's signature dish: boccarone cooked in aluminium foil with fennel, lemon and other herbs in the oven, and served with roast potatoes and grilled vegetables. Delicious. We finished with tiramisu, coffee and limoncello.Could not be better for a lazy Sunday lunch in an ambient setting. As usual, service by the family members was excellent.Of course we will return.

Just outside of Magione, along the lakeshore between San Savino and San Feliciano.....A nice drive from Perugia.
I write this review after having had time to calm down following disgusting service at this restaurant. This was simply the worst restaurant experience I have ever had, and as I said in the title, this was just because we were not Italian, which is sad and a poor reflection on this place, bordering on being racist. My wife and I love Italy and have traveled extensively throughout the country, always finding lovely villages and friendly people. So much so that this year we bought a house in Umbria, such is our love for the culture and scenery. This provides context for what comes next. This place looks really nice from the outside and we were really looking forward to the evening meal, we were shown to our table by a friendly host and then after a few minutes a waiter walked past and dropped some menus on our table without evening speaking to us. He then proceeded to talk to a range of other tables. After a while he came back and took our order. A few minutes later our starters and wine arrived and all was going well. The food was okay and other people around looked to have some really good sea food. Da Massimo was busy but not overly so.Following on from this, some minutes passed were my wife and i talked and observed many people being served, for example the people next to us were served courses, the people on our other side who arrived after us were served two courses and then a group of younger Italians arrived and were served as well.At this point we asked the waiter for an update and he just walked straight past our table, totally ignoring us. When we came back we asked him again for an update and he muttered something that we could not understand, shrugged his shoulders and walked off. We waited a little longer and he served some more people around us, again ignoring us.We then decided to cut our losses and asked for the bill, the manager said that we had not finished and we tried our best to explain the delay. He then went to the waiter and came back and said that we had only been waiting for 20 minutes and that there was no problem. Finally he took the main course off the bill, took our money and walked off.Terrible service and terrible attitudes from all involved.Avoid this place at all costs if your are a tourist or not from Italy, as you this service and treatment was reserved just for us as none Italians. The whole evening was ruined by this terrible place

Fresh sea food not very sophisticated but tasty fresh accompanied by fast and nice service. Mista grillatta was great and the soup in cornette was a big surprise! Bon appetit!

Of course I read the reviews on Trip advisor and thought this would be an interesting place to eat. For outside, make a reservation. We did, and when we arrived, all tables were reserved. Casual environment. Very "local" place which is always a good sign. This was are first day on Holiday and we were tired. We wanted a place that was casual but tasty. -----The food has a great variety at a good cost. All ages would appreciate. I have been in Italy a week prior for work and had the luxury of eating at some top places. This place is good if you are in the city or coming within 20 minutes. If it is longer, it is not a great tourist city to do other things. The food is very good and the atmosphere is very nice. It wasn't amazing, but for this area it is one of the better options. Good prices as well.

Ristorante pizzeria con forno a legna. Specialità mare , spazio verde all'esterno ottimo per bambini. Possibilità matrimoni, feste di compleanno, cresime e comunioni. Ampio parcheggio fronte lago.
Didn't have a reservation and they were reasonably busy.....service was slow... didn't seem to want to know us Brits...even though we live here for six months every year!Very average antipasto... pasta was raw and inedible...both dishes stuck to the roof of your mouth..left 90% of it...no deductions from the bill!Been visiting Italy for 30 years....had a house here for 11 years...worst meal ever over here!.. terribly sorry to have to write this.as we live here!!

This pizza restaurant is set at the edge of the Trasimeno Lake just on the outskirts of St Feliciano - so the views and sunset are stunning. It was busy from about 7.30 so you need to book. Service was good, very friendly and child friendly.Food was good - we had a couple of starters and four pizzas which everyone enjoyed and with a bottle of wine and a few soft drinks the bill was 70 Euros. It's not haute cuisine - but it's good food, served well for a good price in a good setting. Perfect for those hot evenings. If you're looking for a great pizza restaurant - I'd recommend this wholeheartedly.

Service is very attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is warm. We found that the food is locally sourced of the highest quality and exceptionally prepared. There are an incredible number of dishes available that reflects the regions historic cuisine. I love the board with the daily specials! We live a short distance to this restaurant and itâs becoming one of our favorites. Donât forget to try the homemade fruit tarts!

A really friendly, cool and relaxed atmosphere. The food was great - a new twist on fish dishes (that even picky eaters would like) and all very delicious. There are also non-fish options that are equally tasty. Try the fish and chips - the kids loved it! The people were very welcoming.

We visited on a very hot day at lunchtime. We hadn't reserved ahead but we're found a table by the window overlooking Lake Trasiemeno. The restaurant was cool and made a perfect pitch for us. The menu is quite extensive and not overpriced - particularly emphasising fish and seafood from the lake. We both chose pasta - mine with prawns from the lake - very tasty. The house white is a notch above most and was perfectly chilled. Excellent service, too.
