We chose a 3 course menu at 29 ⬠and tried both snail, camembert, beef, hamburger and chocolate. Sitting under the tree in a quiet street, we enjoyed our best restaurant visit during our stay. The food was excellent and the staff nice, attentive and fluent in English. Highly recommended. Should make reservation in order to get a table.

This is a beautiful restaurant in several rooms. The smooth classic jazz music adds to the atmosphere. Our food was delicious. The owner was especially welcoming and come over to talk to us several times. Good wine selection. Reasonable prices.Merci beaucoup, nous avons passé nous aussi une excellente soirée avec vous. Et ne perdez pas votre excellent français. A bientôt.

We stumbled across this wonderful restaurant in an equally charming street. The menu is diverse and different every day, depending on what is available. Fantastic, fresh dishes and great wines for amazing prices. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. Plus, they know what theyâre talking about. The best restaurant we visited in Montpellier!

When you enter everything you see is smart, modern, restrained and precise, with touches of real originality. And rather delightfully, exactly the same can be said of the cooking. I absolutely loved every aspect of this lunch. The service is perfect⦠friendly, relaxed but observantly attentive, imaginative, immensely informative. In fact the young waitress and waiter would both be strong contenders for my private âserver of the year awardâ.The no choice approach to the surprise menus is great. I love having the decisions taken away from me. It can be 2, 3 or 4 courses, as you wish and we took just starter and main. The starter was probably the best tomato-centred dish I have ever eaten. It looked like nothing much more than a slice of giant tomato on a pastry base with a few herbs and flowers on top, but is was so much more than that, simply bursting with intense, complex and surprising flavours. The chicken main was one degree less remarkable, but extraordinarily well thought through and executed. That was already good value for 25 Euros but there were two waves of amuse-bouches beforehand. I asked for one glass of white that would work with both surprises and they served a very classy Cuvee âINâ from Mas Conscience for a mere 7 Euros. Then a 3 Euro coffee came with a wonderful plump hot madeleine â so much better than all the fiddly mini lemon tarts etc that so often appear at this stage as an excuse to bump up the coffee charge to something more aggressive. So yes, Iâm struggling to find even the tiniest criticismâ¦. Not a predicament Iâm accustomed to!... Indeed, if Pastis were close to my home, I could cheerfully eat here twice a week!!

Slightly late on a Sunday night scouting around for food and getting cranky with hunger we happened upon Atelier St. Roch and were rewarded with lovely service and some dishes that lodge happily in the memory weeks later. Particularly good were the baked Hake dish and the Fig Tart with honey and Thyme. Don't hesitate.

We were recommended Villa 29 by our excellent hotel, Les Arceaux. It as an excellent recommendation. The restaurant is lovely, the food was tasty, the owners were delightful, the ambiance was relaxing. We strongly recommend that a visit to Montpelier should include a meal at this superb delight.the portions are generous. The 5 tapas make a full meal. The burger with goat cheese is just wonderful.

Suggested by our hotel (Domaine du Biar) this restaurent was close by and food, wine and service was good. We had some difficulties finding the place even with TomTom, as we drove a bit too far and in the dark couldn't find it but then when we came back we saw the sign.We were maybe a bit undressed (as were most of the guests as well) for this place because it was very nice inside, and food was if not fine-dining then at least very-good dining.

This restaurant blew us away. Though the entree's and plats were simple, they were exquisitely prepared. The duck breast was tender and plump and a must for anyone dining at this restaurant. The salmon tartar was delicious and the rump steak was also scrumptious. Don't be fooled by the unassuming appearance of this restaurant!Thank you very much.Kind regards,
