We have had lunch here on two occasions - the first was a casual drop in which we enjoyed so much we made a point of returning. On both occasions it was very hot so it was good to be cooled by the water vapour installation. Service very friendly and efficient and the food arrived quickly. The pizzas are just great and all other dishes we tried were very good. We will no doubt return

During a recent trip to the Provence area of southern France, my husband and I had the chance to eat at a restaurant called La Cantine in the village of Lambesc. It was clean, well decorated, and the service was excellent. But the reason we drove back to it a second time was the food. We were with local people on both visits, and though I am not a French cuisine expert myself, our companions are, and they had nothing but praise for the authenticity and quality of the food. I just know it was delicious enough to go back for! We look forward to dining there again on our next trip.

You walk downstairs into an authentically beautiful but modern 'cave'. It is simple and beautifully decorated with nice jazz music playing in the background. Wonderful date spot or nice family outing, but on the quieter side so I wouldn't recommend for small, loud children. We went in December so the outdoor terrace was closed, but looked lovely!

I am so impressed with the standard of small restaurants in villages/towns tucked away in the French countryside. This is no exception. We booked (important) through a recommendation and were served fabulous food and good local wine. After such a good meal, we were thankful we only had a few metres to waddle back!

My partner and two friends went to this restauarant for lunch. I had the vegetarian menu because it sounded so intriguing. Everyone else had the lunch time set menu. We were served the most delightful and imaginative appetiser of slivers of crisp bread, olive oil, fried chick pea squares, seasoned bread and a dip. A delight! All dishes that followed were beautifully presented, with first class products, cooked to perfection with fascinating accompanying sauces. I am not a vegetarian but as the lunch menu started with octopus which I do not eat, I opted for the vegetarian choice. It was absolutely sensational. The ambiance is city chic, minimalist with imaginative cutlery, china ware and glasses. The wine list was perfect, reflecting the best of local wines as well as those from further afield. There is also an interesting shop where you can purchase quality condiments, grains, salt and table items. The perfect place to buy presents. I cannot wait to return. A most relaxing and special experience. Lunch for 4 (2 courses each) plus wine was â¬132.Dear Joanna S, thank you very much for your experience feedback. We went to dinner here on the strength of their tripadvisor rating and reviews. Our experience here was different from the glowing tripadvisor ratings. The artichoke first course the waitress recommended was okay, but nothing remarkable. For the mains, I thought I was ordering the beef (we had communication issues as my French is limited as was the waitress's English) but got the lamb. There was so much fat on the lamb that there was hardly anything to eat. What I did eat was very tough. Others at the table ordered two vegetarian dishes, both of which were left unfinished due to lack of flavor. The mains cost around 20 euros each. For what we got, and particularly for the vegetarian dishes, it was not a good value. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, but after our experience we were not eager to go back to try others. During dinner, I overheard the owner urging the couple seated next to our table to write positive tripadvisor reviews. Perhaps this helps to explain, in part, such a high rating?

Well Rognes is a lovely little Provence village a step away from the traditional touristic circuits, so little tourist and of course a bit less to see. For people who like the quiet charms and walking this area is perfect. As for wine lovers they'll be enchanted with the local wines they can taste locally and buy at the cooperative down the road and also directly with the local producers strew all around rognes. Now there are very few restaurants and cafés there and the Piano Gourmand is a pleasant surprise. It has three rooms inside and two outside courtyards in summer. Food is simple but nice an das its a family held restaurant the cooking is done by them. A large pizza oven sits in the first room and even some meats are cooked in it. Local dishes and yummy crispy pizzas are available - Wines are well chosen and service is friendly even when the places is packed , because it does get packed, so book. The owner of this restaurant has been collecting old labels, sign post, enamel adverts and objets for decades and they constitute and very colorful and amusing decoration. Pricing is fair. Enjoy
