What a shame as the summer is coming to an end . The food for all of us was terribly sad . The first plates were edible but after eating them we changed our second plates to just plane meat service was very poor and the bill was to expensive

We stayed and ate here for 1 night on our way South from Naples. The food was terrific from start to finish with wonderfully fresh ingredients combined to make beautiful dishes and there were several different dishes.A lovely evening of delightful food was washed down nicely with lovely local wine and all this is the very picturesque garden and terrace setting of the property.Service was also very pleasant with the owner spending time with us to explain the food and some history and culture which was very much appreciated. We had an absolutely delicious and plentiful meal and a great experience.
The Restaurant Pizzeria Bar LA CAMPAGNOLA by Stefy is located in 'charming valley of the Heat, just a few steps from the historic Paestum and caves of Castelcivita. Our restaurant features a large dining room, decorated in a contemporary style, and a charm

The restaurant "La Torretta" is located in the amazing ducal palace of Giungano , little village near Paestum's archaeological zone. Here you can enjoy fine traditional Cilento's food and enjoy the peace and tranquility increasingly sought in the busy mod
This is authentic Italian cuisine at it's best! We had spent the day in the commercialized, overpriced area of Paestum, and wanted to good, honest, food. Someone told us about this place. You would need a car as the town of Giungano is literally in the middle of nowhere, but once there, you will be amazed by the solitude, the views, the friendliness of the locals, and by La Torretta. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the owner, his daughter, and his step daughter, who at the age of ten was learning the serving ropes! The food was fantastic. I had a rice dish with mushrooms and truffle that was to die for. The local wine was reasonable and extremely tasty. Desserts, though obviously brought in from elsewhere, were also impeccable. I had the lemon sorbet and my daughter had the tirami su. Both excellent. And the price was very affordable. The view of the distant sea and mountains from the outside dining room were breathtaking. Highly recommend this restaurant!

"Lu Vottaro " , characteristic inn in the heart of Trentinara in a 1700 structure that keeps some remains dating back to 1000. And ' undoubtedly the exclusive use of selected raw materials that distinguishes it.
My husband and 2 boys visited Lu Vottaro and what a wonderful meal we had. The owner and her daughter were so welcoming and we could believe how delicious the food was - there is no menu but they explain each course to you and you are free to choose which ones you like . Each course was amazing and I was so full that I couldn't eat dessert much to my dismay! My kids had delicious pasta with fresh tomatoes and they said it was fantastic too - they did manage the chocolate and banana cake though and again cleared the plate ! It's a small intimate restaurant and the owners are so lovely - kind and welcoming and how hospitality should be. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant - you will love it ! Thank you for a wonderful evening .

Five years ago, we dined at L'Occhiano, and my husband and I have looked forward to our return! Finally, we returned with friends. As before, Angela welcomed us as friends and prepared a delicious dinner. We enjoyed appetizers, fusilli, dessert, wine, and homemade liqueurs. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at L'Occhiano and our time with Angela!

My husband and I were hungry after the grotte tour (worth the hour!) and this unassuming little place was right there, so we thought weâd at least get something convenient, if not particularly notable. We were so pleasantly surprised!! Delicious, inexpensive, good vegetarian and/or non-pasta options. The homemade walnut(?) gelato with the homemade fig drizzle was amazing. And Michele Iorio, our host, was so nice and helpful - recommending a local swimming hole (Ischia di Pietra Tonda) and a visit to the town of Castelcivitas (both were great finds unmentioned in our guidebooks!). We came back two days later with our extended family tour group for a second meal! Just as good!!Katie & Josh, thank you very much for coming and for coming back with the rest of the family. We are glad to know you were pleasantly surprised by us. Castelcivita has a lot to offer and we feel satisfied of our advice: you enjoyed everything we suggested. Very nice to meet you and hope to meet you again.Sincerely,Michele of Casa Civitas

Mediterranean cuisine and Cilento
As we arrived the restaurant was closed but the lady from upstairs called the owner. We are so happy that we waited for the two minutes it took for him to arrive because this was the best meal we've had in Italy. The owner was gracious and welcoming, he brought us four courses and we finished off with complimentary liqueurs and chocolate coated figs. The food was rustic and homemade, utterly delicious and simply wonderful. We started with a large portion of antipasti, then homemade mouth watering pasta and juicy lemon steak cooked to perfection. All the food including the liqueurs were produced on his farm. The waitress and the owner went out of their way to welcome us and treat us. Although we do not speak Italian and they do not speak English we managed to communicate the necessities. If you are in the area, you will not regret making the drive for this incredible local and fantastic restaurant. Highly recommend. è sempre bello ricevere parole splendide sul nostro operato grazie di cuore a presto
