We came back to the restaurant we visited 4 years ago and the quality, service and food was just as appealing as it was then. As being English we eat earlier than Italian but having the restaurant to ourselves and sitting outside didnât change the atmosphere. I would highly recommend a visit. We shall be back again next time.
Mountain Chalet where you can taste traditional dishes of the Abruzzo region. Natural homemade food. Tasting menu at a fixed price. Children under 5 eat for free.
Ristorante consigliato, struttura tipo baita di montagna, interni semplici e curati, molto accogliente. Cucina leggera, porzioni abbondanti, tutto fresco ed espresso. Molte proposte e varietà nel menu. Prezzi giusti. Soddisfatti.

It was a boiling hot day. We booked but there really wasn't need as only a few tables were occupied outside. We waited and waited. It seemed like there was only one lady waiting tables. The cold cuts plate was good with a lot of choices and of good quality. The hot scamorza cheese with truffles was okay, the cabbage parcel was the best of the main courses. The strudel was really heavy on cinnamon and very cold on the inside whilst tepid on the outside. Each course took ages to arrive. The waitress was very pleasant.

ohhh what a nice place to eat when outside in snowing, we went there as it was lunch time, it fully booked and people were in the middle of their meal, the waitress was saying that there was no place for two and looked like we had to go away, but we were starving and people suggested us to go have lunch here. Luckily the waitress had a good idea which was making us wait 15 min until some would finish their lunch. Fortunately we waited and we had the best lunch for snowy and cold day. The atmosphere is just simply cozy mountain restaurant with lots of woods, we had wine and we had what is famous about Pappardelle con sugo di cinghiale and roasted shank pork... Deliciousness!!!

Very very cozy and nice restaurant in the centre of Ovindoli, the atmosphere is extremely relaxing and quiet and the staff exceptionally kind. The food is typical and very well prepared and the prices are absolutely adequate (I took a half portion of chocolate cake, not expecting any reductions, and when the bill came I only paid half a dessert). I will definitely visit again and suggest this restaurant to everyone visiting Ovindoli!

Amazing amazing amazing. We showed up at 4pm on a Friday without a reservation and the chef/owner was just arriving at the restaurant. (Usually dinner starts at 9pm) Although they were booked out for the entire evening he offered to seat us and cook and serve us himself. I have never experienced such kindness from a chef/owner. The dinner was amazing. The experience was unforgettable. I will make sure to include this restaurant in my next trip to Italy.

The restaurant is really nice and cozy , here you can taste typical food such as pasta hand made with truffle, wild mushrooms, artichoke , local meat , I really enjoyed tagliata with truffle and lardo, very good was the dessert "sbriciolata " with custard and berries , instead the tiramisu was not so great.

We walked into this restaurant on a rainy night, my husband, myself and my 2 year old. We asked for just 2 pizza's to takeaway. The waitress said we have too many orders and cannot serve you, she then felt bad and checked with the head chef, he said no he could not serve us, I mean they could of told us there would be a wait or something, but to be refused service is just mind boggling. The other chefs had a look of sorry on their faces and seemed ready and eager to serve us. Another disappointing encounter in the Rocca di Mezzo area.

The space has a lot of style, well furnished and designed with style. The service is carried with love and attention to the customers.Among these mountains, it is very hard to find a restaurant which doesn't try to fit into the stereotype of the rustic, mountaineer&hunters. Campacavallo is maybe the only one in the area and this is remarkable.Unfortunately, Its cuisine could be better. They try to mix local ingredients with more Mediterranean recepies but the outcome is not enough to be satisfyng. Its cucine is stuck mid-way and it lacks identity. That said, generally speaking the food is good and is a great alternative to the average menu you can find around.Ps: they should change their olive oil supplier, it is too heavy and doesn't perform well at cooking temperature!!!
